Feb 01, 2009 — The celebrations in honor of Charles Robert Darwin for his 200th birthday (Feb. 12) and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his influential book On the Origin of Species by Natural Selection (Nov. 29th) are well underway. It is hard to think of any other scientist who gets the kind of gushy adulation heaped on this one man. It borders on religious euphoria. Some examples:...

I’m sure Darwin is in Heaven quite amused at all the excitement his theories still create.

Yep- Darwin apologists from the Associated Press were hard at work malignign Creationism and praising Darwinism- but htey did cite the fact that schools all across America ARE startign to teach the problems with Darwinism- at least that’s a first step- Of course the org. opposing Discovery.org had ot get their assinine “ID is just an attempt to sneak religion into the classrooms’ Which just goes to show that there is NO intellectual honesty when it comes to opposing ID

Nah! He's morphed (evolved) into a celestial creature and will appear soon at the White House./sarc

.....and the problem with celebrating a great scientist’s groundbreaking work in the field of biology would be????

I mean OTHER than his theory not fitting in with your religious views....

In 2043....Newton’s 400th birthday will get much fanfare.

You mean other than the fact that Darwood was non-scientist/med-school dropout, did not follow the scientific method, and tried to rewrite the entire history of biology based on a few minor variations between finches?

Slightly off topic (only slightly though), this article reminded me of a book I read a number of years ago. It is still a great thumbnail reference for anyone who desires to understand a few of the corrupted world views that are still taught and that continue to harm society, even today.

SEVEN MEN WHO RULE THE WORLD FROM THE GRAVE” by David Breese.

“...identifies seven men who, even though they rest in their graves, influence the world in negative ways through their ideas. They include: Darwin, Marx, Wellhausen, Dewey, Freud, Keynes, and Kierkegaard.”

http://www.amazon.com/Seven-Men-Rule-World-Grave/dp/0802484484

Good reading for the uninitiated (not you GGG).
...just saying

Claims from someone that blindly believes the accounts of the creation of the world from a book.

How cute...

Thanks for the tip. I read it many moons ago, but it wouldn’t hurt to dust it off and give it a quick read-through again. All the best—GGG

“not fitting in with your religious views....”

They weren’t exactly just celebrating his groundbreaking work......

Celebrating his deity would be closer to the truth.

Newton is the greatest scientist who ever lived. Newton believed young earth creation.

Claims from someone who has been illuminated by the accounts of the creation of the world from the only book God ever wrote.

There, I fixed it.

Nothing blinding about that book. If only more people would read it.

Na, not me. I believe the universe randomly and without purpose just suddenly popped into existence.

The irony here is that Darwin’s unscietific book Origins launched the fanciful materialist creation myth that gave the rise to the (now) crumbling Temple of Darwin.

Gee...I got the national geographic right here.

On the cover: “What Darwin didn’t know”

Inside:

“Darwin’s first clues: he was inspired by fossils of armadillos and sloths”

“modern Darwins: they’re proving his genius-—and finding his ERRORS”. OMG!!!

Sure sounds like the fellatio-rest this thread promised.

No wonder...
