Michael Steele, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee wants the GOP to reach out to candidates who support gay marriage and are pro-choice. Steele told Fox's Chris Wallace that it was "important" to reach out to those voters.
WALLACE: You are one of the co-founders of something called the Republican Leadership Council which supports candidates who favor abortion and gay rights.
STEELE: Yes.
(watch video)
WALLACE: Does the GOP needs to do a better job of reaching out to people who hold those views?
STEELE: I think -- I think that's an important opportunity for us, absolutely. Within our party we do have those who have that view as well as outside and my partnership with Christy Todd Whittman was an effort to build a bridge between moderates and conservatives.

That's a lie. There is an abortion industry. Obama likes abortion so much that he can't wait to abort not only America's posterity but the posterity of the whole world.
Don't try to tell me that pro-aborts like Obama don't like abortion. They do. Their hearts are black with the coagulated blood of an entire generation of Americans. Their blood lust will not be satisfied until there is no longer a pro-life movement.
Steele wants to reach out to these black hearted pro-aborts and bring them into the big tent where they can spread their poison and ultimately take over the republican party, just as they have taken over the democrat party.
Wrong. I make them fight for my vote rather than take it for granted.
Steele and those like him are abandoning the pro-lifers in an attempt to seek compromise and common ground with the pro-aborts. Well the pro-aborts are firmly in the democrat camp and doing rather well. The pro-lifers have been firmly in the republican camp, but it seems the republicans could give a damn about us. Well at this point the feeling is mutual.
I will support pro-life candidates. I will no longer support an organization that seeks common ground with pro-abortionists. The Republican party is doing just that. Hence, I can no longer consider myself a "Republican".
But they do not speak for the average American. Only for a small and vocal (and rather shrill) constituency of theirs.
The point I was trying to make: Many people who self-identify as "pro-choice" have either given the subject very little thought or do not like abortion. They are there for the taking.
If we drive them off, though, because we have given the subject thought and do feel (rightfully) strongly about it, it is our loss. Think of it as jumping onto a fast moving train. Gotta start slow and have patience. DO NOT, however, give up your underlying passion or convictions, and do not compromise one inch!
Well we need to stop pulling out punches. We need to express to these people in no uncertain terms that their support of abortion is a sin, it is evil, it is support for the murder of innocent children. We need to stop trying to mollify their feelings, and we need to speak the truth boldly.
We certainly don't need to "reach out" to these people and tell them that it is OK that they support the murder of unborn children and that they are all welcome under the "Big Tent".
ABORTION IS MURDER!
When are we going to start acting like it is?
I'll write to him to ask, but I rather suspect he is reaching for those who have not given it a whole lot of thought.
Your passion is commendable. We are right to mourn this great evil of 50 million killed. Let's end it, beginning with winsome persuasion, and let's build a majority.
Because he intends on watering down the party's position on abortion and the homosexual agenda, something that is absolutely unacceptable. All you need to do is look at what happen to Rudy Giuliani in last year's primaries to figure that out.
I don't trust anyone that worked with Christie Todd Whitman.
And, the only way to reach out to pro-"choicers" and homosexual marriage advocates is to water down the party's principles. That isn't acceptable.
Tell us how the party remains pro-life and reaches out to pro-"choicers"?
And, weren't you one of the geniuses that touted McCain here? We've tried a RINO at the top of the ticket and it didn't work. Republicans tried Arnold Schwarzenegger in California and it has been a disaster. Republicans tried Steele's buddy Christie Todd Whitman and a Republican hasn't been elected governor since.
I'm tired of losers like Norman continuing to tell us the same old Democratic-lite nonsense is going to work when never has.
I’ll tell you: Exactly how the Democrat Party reached out to pro-lifers this last time around without compromising its position one iota - and won!
They certainly didn’t.

Why can’t we just drop social engineering and focus on the economy? Without a good economy everything else goes down the rat hole.
I found this speech, given by a former president, and it seems pretty relevent today. Here’s an excerpt:
“...Negligence of its regulations, inattention to its recommendations, if not disobedience to its authority, not only in individuals but in States, soon appeared with their melancholy consequences, universal languor, jealousies and rivalries of States, decline of navigation and commerce, discouragement of necessary manufactures, universal fall in the value of lands and their produce, contempt of public and private faith, loss of consideration and credit with foreign nations, and at length in discontents, animosities, combinations, partial conventions, and insurrection, threatening some great national calamity...”
That is from John Adams’ inauguration speech and he is discussing the consequences of the Confederation that lead to the formation of the constitutional republic we have today.
There’s no mention of social issues, simply because I think that we have an even higher moral obligation to focus on the protection our republic because it is the foundation of every other liberty we have. I think nearly everyone can agree on that point, and we don’t need to compromise our own personal values for that kind of outreach.
Steele was asked a simple straight forward question on whether or not he thought that Roe v. Wade should be overturned and after a lenghty song and dance worthy of Bill Clinton, he ultimately stated that he wanted it to remain the law of the land.
I don't think even Bill Clinton on his best day could dissemble like Steele did with Russert, but ultimately Russert got him to admit that he thinks that Roe v. Wade should remain in place and not be overturned. No one who is pro-life could take that position, not even for a minute.
Now he wants to reach across the aisle and try to appeal to pro-aborts. In my mind that is like reaching across the aisle to try to lure Nazis into your party. We need to make it clear that we believe that Abortion is murder. By reaching out and trying to mollify pro-abortionists and trying to convince them that we are not as pro-life as we pretenc (and apparently we are not) then all we are doing is diluting the pro-life message and selling our souls to the devil in order to win a few votes that most likely will never come our way anyway.
Steele was the wrong man for this position and he proved it the moment he was elected. He didn't waste a minute.
