McCain: stimulus bill has too much spending

WASHINGTON -- Senator John McCain says there's too much unnecessary spending and too few tax cuts in the Obama administration's economic proposals to stimulate the economy.

The Arizona Republican and former presidential candidate also complains the plan has no "endgame."

Interviewed Monday on CBS's "The Early Show," McCain said that after the economy recovers the U.S. should "be on a path to a balanced budget."

Instead, he says, the Democrats' plan would burden future generations of Americans with the biggest budget deficit in history.

He says it's time for both parties to sit down and negotiate. He says the Democrats need to consider his party's concerns, especially on cutting taxes.

” Well, thanks to a lot of you “purists” all the Republicans can do now is nibble around the edges”

What do you mean? Where should we have compromised? Abortion? Gun Control? Amnesty? Smaller government? Increasing oil exploration? Resisting the homosexual agenda? Resisting the green lunacy? War on Terror?

If you’re so smart, what exactly should we have done to win? Become Democrats?

Look on the bright side, The country is getting a dose of liberalism. It’s going to be painful and burn when it pees, but next time it won’t lay down with a pig.

Who anointed McCain our spokesman? He lost, and should step to the rear of the bus.

He failed utterly in his (idiotic) strategy of courting "moderates".

Yes, he sure did! He was a lousy candidate.

That is the insanity party elites keep repeating

Then, replace 'em.

But, conservatives gotta start winning more elections.

But first some real conservatives have to run. The ones who do we are told can't win (by the GOP)

Speaking for myself, I'm damn tired of voting against the other guy instead of voting for our guy. I haven't felt clean yet after giving my vote to McCain....see , I can't even say I voted for him, would make me vomit.

Fix the disastrous GOP primary system which actually allowed our opponents to pick our candidate.

Surprise, they chose McCain for us! Gee, wonder why?

Replace the GOP guys who are telling conservative they can't win.

Then, go out and prove they were wrong----by winning!

The DBM has anointed McCain to be the GOP’s spokesman in the hopes that he'll stab the GOP in the back again.

If he refuses to do so (fat chance!) he'll be relegated to the back of the bus, forthwith, by the drive-bys.

“Fix the disastrous GOP primary system which actually allowed our opponents to pick our candidate.”

I agree with this one. Open primaries are stupid.

Yeah that's the ticket, gee why didn't I think of that?

Problem is, I have no control over who the jerks are that have the influence, neither do you.

Yes, you do.

It starts at the local level, with your local GOP organization.

Work for the true conservative and against the RINOs.

It's way past that...the government needs an enema.

It's time to water the tree of liberty.

It's time to water the tree of liberty.

This may be closer to reality than we all believe....we are one attack away, beit unconstitutional legislation or attack from beyond our borders.

I prefer peace, but there are those that demand that the government use force to impose unconstitutional legislation and appeasement...as long as their personal hog isn't gored......

Well, thanks to a lot of you "purists" all the Republicans can do now is nibble around the edges and try to induce compromises.

Yes, how dare we not accept the bad behavior of some republicans and fight for our principles. We are bad conservatives. Bad I tell ya!

If the GOP wants to win, they had better find their conservative backbone or resign themselves to going the way of the WHIGS.

One more thing, it is compromisers such as yourself, who are the real problem and has enabled the GOP to get where they are today, not people of principle.

Oh ya, you “people of principle” are awesome.

Ya fell for Perot and we got Clinton.

Ya fell for the Foley flap and we got Speaker Pelosi.

Ya fell for the “the lesser of two evils is still evil” Soros bait and we got Obama.

Ya, you guys are awesome.

"So no, I won't save the outrage for Obama."

The way I see it, criticizing McLame is one-in-the-same as criticizing Zero.

I did not mean to insult you. I get so angry of McCain allowing them to push him around, I forget myself.
