WASHINGTON -- Senator John McCain says there's too much unnecessary spending and too few tax cuts in the Obama administration's economic proposals to stimulate the economy.
The Arizona Republican and former presidential candidate also complains the plan has no "endgame."
Interviewed Monday on CBS's "The Early Show," McCain said that after the economy recovers the U.S. should "be on a path to a balanced budget."
Instead, he says, the Democrats' plan would burden future generations of Americans with the biggest budget deficit in history.
He says it's time for both parties to sit down and negotiate. He says the Democrats need to consider his party's concerns, especially on cutting taxes.

I did read them and was alluding, primarily, to your agreement with the band analogy.
Cedric, today John McCain went on several shows and talked up the Obama stimulus plan. What is it with you guys that can’t quite understand what John is?
He will not say this because he wants a "stimulus" package as much as the next man, its just that he wants it to have HIS name on it instead of Bozo's.
The headline of this thread is McCain criticizes current stimulus plan.
Cedric, I apologize. I was off base and I’m sorry.
I had thought he was coming to terms with the bill, and was going to support it.
I have been expecting him to demand a few changes and then go over, so that was where I was coming from. I was wrong here.
Thanks for the correction.
The independents voted for Bozo, that's where the independent office holders are, wearing the democrat brand.
I, for one, have had it with the RINO a**hats in the Republican party and with fools like you, Cedric, who think that people who want conservatives in office are the problem. The problem is that McCain and the rest of the RINO crowd, including our new savior Mr. Steele, don't give a rat's a** about conservatism and therefore lose elections.
Bush barely won both of his elections and McCain only received the amount of votes he did because of the extremely conservative(compared to McCain and the RINO boys)and intelligent Sarah Palin.
McCain shot himself in the foot, he ran a piss poor campaign and only a totally blind McCainbot wouldn't know that.
I supported the jerk during the election but will never support another RINO, they will lose elections any way due to their stabbing the base in the back, so why vote for them?
Agreeing with you, but having taken Cedric to task somewhat unfairly due to a misunderstanding of what this article actually related, I’m going to refrain from giving him more of a hard time here.
I will say that as Conservatives we MUST discontinue backing people who do not agree with the tenets of Conservatism, or who are even willing to go cozy up with people who do not agree with the tenets of Conservatism.
We are defeating our own goals when we do.
No problem.
For further clarification: I recognize that McCain is RINO.
I hope he is challenged in the primary when he runs in 2010. I hope he loses. But I doubt he will.
Thanks Cedric. I share the same wish, but I also recognize the chances are slim.
Tell that to the dreamers around here who foolishly think there's some laudable nobility in being "independent".
Excuse me?
I would vote for Mark Sanford or Jim DeMint, despite a few "flaws." I would also vote for Michele Bachmann, without any hesitation whatsoever. Hell, I would even consider voting for Sarah Palin, if it became readily apparent that she had learned from and repudiated various McCainian statements and moves on her part (e.g., the Univision interview and the bailout/stimulus nonsense), in addition to hiring plenty of old school conservative advisers.
However, RINOs like McCain are a different story. McCain isn't conservative, period. I will vote for someone who is reasonably and genuinely conservative, not a half-assed arrogant establishment turd shoved in my face by the RNC or the mainstream media. And you do well to remember that, because I'm not the only voter in that frame of mind.
You're not excused.
Mark Sanford...Jim DeMint...Michele Bachmann
Oh, I'm sure, in time you and your ilk will find something abhorrent about each and every one.
It's what you do.
I'll be watching.
Abhorrent...after I sent money to Bachmann's campaign...LOL.
TADSLOS is right. You are a child troll.
Oh, I'm sure, in time you and your ilk will find something abhorrent about each and every one. So you admit that you will be stalking members of the ping list, eh? Are you making another hit list again, little one? |

Ping to post 112.
My guess is that McCain would be fine with anything Zero wants, he probably is just hoping that it can be named the "McCain-Pelosi Stimulus Plan" or something like that.
Looking to TADSLOS for validation?
You’re a hoot!
No, I just wanted to let him/her know that he/she was right.
You have an annoying habit of pinging your posse when addressing comments to me.
That is, no doubt, because you recognize that you’re in over your head. Hence, the plaintiff cry for help.
But, alas, all too often you’re left stranded, alone and at my mercy by the aforementioned posse.
While your desperate pleas for the rescue party to come to you much needed aid are understandable they are, nonetheless, pathetic.
