Life after ice storm dire, getting worse in spots (WHERE'S OBAMA...is this his Katrina?)

MARION, Ky. – In some parts of rural Kentucky, they're getting water the old-fashioned way — with pails from a creek. There's not room for one more sleeping bag on the shelter floor. The creative are flushing their toilets with melted snow.

At least 42 people have died, including 11 in Kentucky, and conditions are worsening in many places days after an ice storm knocked out power to 1.3 million customers from the Plains to the East Coast. And with no hope that the lights will come back on soon, small communities are frantically struggling to help their residents.

I remember when the MSM was over the top with it, like they were reporting 10,000 or more, and sadly to this day, people still believe that many died.

Remember when Obama was campaigning, and he was quoted stating that "10,000 had died in that Kansas tornado"?

Does he practice that nose in the air in front of a mirror, or does that just come naturally?

It comes from years of his nose trying to get away from the 'stink' of a Chicago politician.

Assistance in getting power restored.

What is disturbing is that alot of money was just allocated to alot of things - how much was allocated for Federal Assistance with disasters. I can only imagine how things would have been handled during the floods in the midwest. Bush had alot of major disasters to deal with during his 2 terms in office.

“if a Republican was in office instead of “the one”, 42 people dead would be 24 hour headline news on all stations along with demands for FEMA, etc...”

So true.

Don’t bother Lord Obama. He’s too busy tending the orchids growing in the oval office.

I'm upset that my ancestors were run out of New Orleans in the 1800's by widespread illness that the government failed to curtail. It made us have to relocate to the colder states.

Let's see now...that's about 150 years plus of being dislocated and disenfranchised.

Mega Bucks!

Answer: Help involves knowledge of electricity. To liberals, electricity - since proper design requires the use of mathematics - is magic.,/I>

They also consider it black magic. Unless the electricity is produced by birds flapping their wings to drive windmills or from the Sun then electricity is one of the most evil inventions ever to come from man kind, ranks only slightly better on the liberal crap scale than tobacco!

Why is it that President Obama is hosting a Super Bowl Party in the White House while people are DYING in Kentucky??

Remember that during the Katrina aftermath, the national media excoriated President Bush for having birthday cake with Dick Cheney while people were “forced out of their homes” by Katrina and the failed levees?

So, Why is it that President Obama is NOT acting like President Bush by ordering a mass evacuation of displaced persons, FEMA action in providing homes and water and food? Obama has almost IGNORED the recent ice storm in Kentucky, where over 40 people have died, hundreds of thousands are still out of power and freezing to death?

Why is it that President Obama MOCKED the people of Kentucky by saying that Chicago is much colder and that Chicagoans deal with this type of weather all the time?

If the media was genuine and sincere in their reporting, you would be screaming about this.

Ok, some of us on FR are missing the point of these "Where is Bozo threads?". The point of them is this: If Bush was in charge we would be hearing non-stop how it was his fault that the ice storm hit, that he should have sent help regardless if the states asked for it or not and that he was racist because the area contains so many blacks(especially since AR is a former slave state).

The people posting these are not really concerned, or not much at any rate, that Fema isn't there. What they are concerned about is the lack of coverage and the lack of taking Bozo to task for not at least talking about the incident or over flying the area in a Helicopter and seeing the extent of the damage for himself.

He has almost totally ignored this loss of life and property and about the only comment he made was a snarky remark about kids not going to school during this ice storm.

He is an a**hat of the highest order and the posters are merely pointing out the difference between the coverage of this and the coverage of Katrina.

To prevent duplication or confusion, always place the source title first, then your parenthetical remarks. Thanks.

I don't mean to make less of these people's sufferings, but...

I live in a part of the country where I can count on losing power for days at least once every winter. Do people not know how to heat with wood/coal/kerosene anymore?

More people died in the 2009 Ice Storm than Katrina, but not a peep from the Media Whores. Total media blackout of Obama and the democrats' refusal to help the Flyover Country victims. Compare with:

Meanwhile Obama keeps HIS thermostat set in the White House at a broiling 80 degrees. Not to mention mass deaths from the 2008 Ice Storm flys in the face of the Global Warming Hoax. "Nothing to see here.. just move along."
