OLD SARGE REFUGEE REPORT #4:
The Home Detachment is still at the hotel room for now, but we’ll be leaving tomorrow to hole up in a relatve’s house that has power and heat - for the present.
F-I-L had power restored to the nursing home, and much of the West End businesses are back online, for now. WalMart on Dixie Highway had flickering lights while Sarge stood there at the pharmacy. Cel service is also hit or miss, but mostly good. Universities and schools across the area are closed, or being pressed into service as shelters. But people are showing the best they have, helping each other out and providing what service they can.
Sarge is watching the incoming Groundhog Day Storm, like everyone else. In the meantime, errands have to be run; essential meds, check on the homestead and relations, and purchasing supplies for the upcoming days ahead. We’ll be offline for a day or two, unless I can get dial-up done at the relative’s place. As soon as the camera works, pics will follow.
Further Bulletins As Events Warrant!

Good afternoon, Taz...just got home. Took the afternoon off for the chiropractor and whatever else I could accomplish. Look what a friend had....so I went and picked it up. She also gave me a spare chair for in the tub. She's been thru this and will be a great source of info for my folks....AND, she knows someone in town that has one of those riding seats that go up and down stairs! That is the only solution for access to both upstairs and downstairs. d:o)

Oh how wonderful Kathy!
That riding seat looks pretty slick. I’ve never seen one like that.
Thank heavens for good friends!

What a great picture. I understand our folks in Iraq worked long and hard keeping security high for the election. I also saw a few videos of some of the Iraqui folks afterward thanking us and our troops for making it possible.
