"Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things you couldn't do before."
So said White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in November, and Democrats in Congress are certainly taking his advice to heart. The 647-page, $825 billion House legislation is being sold as an economic "stimulus," but now that Democrats have finally released the details we understand Rahm's point much better. This is a political wonder that manages to spend money on just about every pent-up Democratic proposal of the last 40 years.

Thanks, I did a search on “40” in the title.
It’s a transfer of wealth. U.S. Treasury >>>> the DNC and their supporter’s coffers...
I can’t believe every Republican couldn’t see through this, I don’t care how leftist they are.
That’s one of those ‘gottchas’ - words < 4 letters don’t search at all...
“wish list” brings it right up, strangely enough.
These bailouts are the looting of the US and its treasury.
We are being LOOTED.
Indeed. It clearly takes no time and nothing at all to see that most of it is “transfer of wealth programs.” Even, dummy me can see that.
“The larger fiscal issue here is whether this spending bonanza will become part of the annual “budget baseline” that Congress uses as the new floor when calculating how much to increase spending the following year, and into the future. Democrats insist that it will not. But it’s hard — no, impossible — to believe that Congress will cut spending next year on any of these programs from their new, higher levels. The likelihood is that this allegedly emergency spending will become a permanent addition to federal outlays — increasing pressure for tax increases in the bargain. Any Blue Dog Democrat who votes for this ought to turn in his ‘deficit hawk’ credentials.
“This is supposed to be a new era of bipartisanship, but this bill was written based on the wish list of every living — or dead — Democratic interest group. As Speaker Nancy Pelosi put it, ‘We won the election. We wrote the bill.’ So they did. Republicans should let them take all of the credit.”
Every time I think that I’ve thought of all the garbage that’s coming our way in 2009, something else comes along.
How much is the interest payment each year on Obama’s debt?
Yep, the robbers have entered the doors and are in charge.

I keep thinking of that pic with the guy wading through water in New Orleans and all that beer & stuff in the recycle bin.
US, NO.
Not a single Republican voted for this package deal.
The Democrats/Liberals are going to own this non-stimulating economic bamboozle lock, stock and barrel.
And it won’t work. They’re just throwing money down a rat hole hoping something will eventually work.
When we have a Treasurer who doesn’t even remember to pay his tax bills for more than one year, what can we possibly expect from the Democratic party!
And now I hear that the folks over at the Science Foundation have been watching porn to their little hearts’ content. Sure hope they aren’t in line for bailout money.
Grrrrrr
Yes we are.
Oh cut it out. You’re no dummy. And think, you’re probably smarter than most of our government officials. Okay, I’m sorry. That was uncalled for. ;-)
It does seem crystal clear doesn’t it.
That's Reggie Love, Obama's 'bodyman'. LOL
Yes the Democrats will. But you can count on those funds finding their way to over 50% of the populace. So that takes the sting out of it for them anyway.
