This is insane...does anyone in Washington know what is about to happen.
Have they never heard of Weimar?
They just keep the printing presses rolling.
Just nuts.
We have 41 warm bodies in the Senate. And they better remain warm to Conservatism on this one. This is a big deal.
Conservatives will figure out sooner or later that the cowards we have in congress needs to be voted out. WE NEED FRESH FACES AND IDEAS IN CONGRESS!
Was this a “conservative” alternative plan?
The conclusion was forgone, but the effort had to be made and I applaud them for doing it.
The best and only thing they can do now is flat-out refuse to accept Obama’s porkulus bill, not sellout for crumbs of concession, and shout from the rooftops that Obama and the democrats fully own the coming shipment of fail.
I want to know the 2 Dems too.
“This is insane...does anyone in Washington know what is about to happen.”
History and facts have no place in Washington D.C. I worked for a computer store and we sold laptop batteries to the gubmit for $360 each. They cost $40.
Socialism, here we come.
Maybe they’re going to vote no on both plans.
After the way we were gamed on the first bailout, they will never convince me we should approve another.
They told us they needed a $700 billion influx immediately or the credit markets would collapse. We still have $350 billion of those funds laying around. It’s been months.
The end! No more bailouts.
This current Democrat plan is tantamount to wholesale theft from the treasury of the United States, for political(D) purposes. And I’m afraid the Republican are going to let it pass.
All tax cuts. No pOrk.
O.K. then. Thanks.
The republicans do not have enough votes to stop it. The Democrats and Obama are trying to put the stimulas as a bipartisan one, so if it fails, which it will, they want the blame to go to both parties. I think the Republicans will stand firm and vote against it, even though they can not stop it.
The plan was 400 Billion in tax cuts.
Something that would start working right away.
Okay thanks for clarifying that.
And how about that Obamiak Republican who voted ‘present’?
Good Catch. lol
We have a minority. That is true. We can object to the bill though. This bill cannot be brought to the floor of the senate, unless a cloture vote is taken to force it. The Democrats have to get 60 votes to force it, and they only have 59 Senators. If our side remains firm, the bill is dead.
We did it this morning with the digital changeover.
We can do it again.
