Welcome back to Oklahoma! If we can get rid of Boren, then our delegation would be a whole lot better.

"I just contacted my Congresscritters office to ask how he planned on voting. At this time, he is leaning on voting no. I told her that he needs to absolutely vote NOshe said lots of calls and most are against." I just called mine (Todd Platts - R PA) who is also leaning no. I was surprised when she said the calls were split, but most were for the bill. This is a very conservative area too (votes 65-70% R).

This is a very conservative area too (votes 65-70% R). Doesn't seem to mean much anymore. There was strong turnout in my state in supposedly Republican districts and Obomba got up to a third of the "Republican" vote. I'm not sure electoral demographics mean what they used to.

Platts is my Congresscritter too. I also doubt that the calls have been evenly split. I emailed through his website, but maybe I need to call too.
He’s usually pretty good about standing up for Conservative principles, though.

Liberals have a lot more free time than Conservatives.
They have time to protest, make calls, engage in “activism.”
They work in government agencies, not-for-profits and in higher education. They are often well-organized WITHIN these entities.
How many government bureaucrats have spent the day making calls? How many teachers, professors and social workers?
When you have three people doing the work of one, there’s plenty of time to complain.
NOTE: I called my Congressman today and e-mailed as well.

>> I have such little faith in my party anymore.
Anyone else thinking of joining the Libertarian Party? They’re kooky on a few things, but for the most part, I like their philosophy, and they seem to be the only party that will really fight for “smaller government, lower taxes, more freedom.” If Republicans start to defect in droves, maybe they will wake up.

I just spoke with office of Congressman David Dreier (R-CA), he’s the former House Rules Chairman. His office won’t give out information about how he intends to vote. He could use some persuasion:

Ugh!! I can’t even stand watching that Robert Gibbs spin, he makes me so dizzy!! One of the reporters was asking him about all the pork attached to this ‘porkulus’ bill, and he spins back that oh, the pork is just a teeny teeny tiny amount (one tenth of one tenth of one tenth of one percent or some crap statistic made up on the spot-) and then the spinning about not hiring lobbyists but it’s okay to hire lobbyists because there’s waivers or some such BS!!!!
It’s good to see the journalists FINALLY starting to ask serious questions instead of just worshipping HolyO!!! But gads, the Gibbs guy takes the cake!
