“We expected a massive presence of the gay community and their friends” (SF Walk for life)
California Catholic ^ | 1/27/2009

Posted on 01/27/2009 9:28:00 AM PST by markomalley

An unidentified blogger on the web site of the left-leaning San Francisco Bay Area Independent Media Center has rebuked the pro-homosexual movement in the city for failing to show up at a counter-demonstration to the 5th annual Walk for Life West Coast on Sunday, where an estimated 30,000 people peacefully marched in opposition to abortion.

Walk for Life opponents had earlier called participants in the annual event “anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage terrorists,” and sought to organize a counter-demonstration of “hundreds of thousands of pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage people.”

Instead, said the blogger, “We had perhaps 100 people at our pro-abortion rally and march in San Francisco on January 24, 2009. After all the outcry against Prop 8, we expected a massive presence of the gay community and their friends, by definition also a pro-abortion community, at our pro-abortion rally but now we know, the gay community is not serious about building a movement to win gay marriage.”

(snip)

The blogger who complained of the failure of that effort also took aim at Catholics, writing, “The Catholic Church is building its fascist movement in their schools, mostly among the non-white workingclass, and that is who was present at the anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-science march: Mostly workingclass Latino school children ages 10-17 and their very poor workingclass parents. There were a few old, rich, whites who would fit at any Republican Party rally, but they were the minority. We cannot afford to have any fascist base among the workingclass in these hard economic times.”

Finally, the blogger issued a warning: “The gay community will have to get serious real fast if it is to avoid the catastrophe of Nazi Germany where a gay movement was crushed by fascism.”

Maybe the blogger is a plant by the pro-lifers. Saying that the gay community is by definition a “pro-abortion” community hints at that, as do non-p.c. attacks on Latinos.

the gay community is not serious about building a movement to win gay marriage

Oops - Freudian slip!

The 'gay community' claims gay marriage is a right but 'to win' something implies that it is an objective or a prize. In other words, gay marriage is not half as important as ramming another court victory down society's throat. These people still believe that a win from an out-of-touch judge equates to wide societal acceptance. Wrong, wrong and wrong again.

Hmmm, I wonder.......let’s start a rumor.

[ Science Identifies ‘GAY Gene’ - Parents can choose to abort ]

Bet they’d all be pro-life then.

Guy is a bit confused about who or what is a fascist.

As we all know the Democrat party is led by fascists who like to kill babies.

In 2006 they ran a campaign against homosexuals.

What if homosexuality is determined to be biological, either genetic or by hormonal effects in the womb? What if it could be prenatally tested much as Down Syndrome is? Would gay activists’ heads explode at the contradiction of being pro-choice when parents can chose to have only straight children?

Maybe homosexuals don’t want to kill babies.

No, but they sure would press for an exception to "choice" in that case...any dr who aborted a homosexual fetus (ahem) would be guilty of a hate crime...and compared to Joseph Mengele. (And no, I didn't violate Godwin's law: the writer of the article did so)

I’m sick and tired of this cross-movement BS. Support of gay rights has nothing to do with slaughtering babies. Saying gay activists should support abortion is like saying feminists should be opposed to war. Huh? This idea that to be a true ____ (black, gay, woman, etc) means you have to sign on to the leftist agenda is absurd.

by definition also a pro-abortion community

From the gay point of view, I wonder why that would be?

(I can see why from a spiritual point of view - homosexuality is anti-God thus anti-life, but why would this person say it is so?)

If and when they find the 'gay gene' and expecting Moms could abort a child for being gay ... would that not change the gay community's view on tying gay rights to abortion rights? It might be the other way. If we respect the unborn more, no matter their status, then we respect those fellow humans who have a different sexual orientation.

I suppose you're right. The test would be outlawed just as India outlawed using ultrasound for detecting the sex of an unborn child because too many parents were deciding to abort girls.

Here’s a real head-scratcher for the clueless blogger. The only way GAY couples can have children in their “marriages” is for straight people to give their kids up for adoption. If access to aborting is massively increased, fewer babies for the gays to adopt. Maybe the Gay community has thought this through and gets it better than the baby killing industry thinks they do. If not, then we should help foster this rumor and create a conundrum for the gay activists.

Bingo. If anything, gays should be anti-abortion. I see it, and a few others I know see it, but too many buy into the idea of solidarity with other leftist activists. It’s hard to respect people who just sign on entirely to one agenda without thinking through each issue.

I know a number of self-described "Prolife Gays." Their point of view is that all human life, in all its forms, deserves respect and protection.

If one defines "gay" as a behavior (i.e. people seeking sexual relations with a person or persons of the same sex) I would want to argue with that proposition, since not all sexual behavior is equally respectable.

BUT if one defines "gay" as (how shall I say) a kind of innate personality type, I would agree with their point of view. In other words, human dignity is an intrinsic value of all human beings, gay or straight, born or unborn.

There is an organization called the Pro-Life Alliance of Gays and Lesbians. About 15 years ago I had lunch with a few of them - they and Feminists for Life were trying to have a presence at some City College social consciousness event. Anyway, I liked the PLAGAL guys but the City College folks were totally impervious to the pro-life message even though we were talking then about on-going female infanticide abortions and future gay-gene abortions. Did not compute with their world view and apparently still does not.

“The gay community will have to get serious real fast if it is to avoid the catastrophe of Nazi Germany where a gay movement was crushed by fascism.”

The "masculine" homosexuals were actually an active part of the Nazi Party.

From: Homosexuality and the Nazi Party

Konrad Heiden, a contemporary of Hitler and a leading authority on Nazi history, wrote that the Freikorps "were breeding places of perversion" and that "Rossbach's troop...was especially proud" of being homosexual (Heiden:295). Rossbach's adjutant was Edmund Heines, noted for his ability to procure boys for sexual orgies. Ernst Roehm, recruited by Rossbach into homosexuality, later commanded the Storm Troopers for the Nazis, where they were more commonly known as the SA (an acronym for Sturmabteilung).

Of course, to the lefty San Francisco blogger, the Nazi's tried to exterminate gay people, when in fact, many gays were a part of the Nazi party and the SA.

Yeah, I’m familiar with that group. I’m not a member (though I’ve considered joining), but I support what they’re doing.
