Geithner Confirmed with some Repub Support
Fox News Live | 1/26/09 | vanity

Geithner vote of 60-34 (near strict party line), Gibbs' Press Beatings, Pelosi's $300M for abortion, Obama's "I won so shut up" -- The speed with which the Obama Administration is going down is breathtaking -- and wonderful!

Isn’t all that is needed is a majority to get the slot? If this is the case, then there was no need whatsoever for any Rep to vote for Geithner.

Stupid. Just absolutely stupid.

What you said! Our senators need to keep hearing from us how immoral their vote was.

I am not privy to his investments, but I am extrapolating based on talking to some of my friends at the country club. I was yammering away about how wrong it is to appoint a caught red handed tax cheat as boss of IRS. The two guys who countered me are the ones with large stock portfolio’s. These people did not vote for Obama, but when they perceive Geithner’s quick approval as beneficial the morality of it goes out the window. These same two guys were all gung ho about the $750 bailout.

º gave McLame permission to do so.

McLame bowed his head and backed away
politely thanking the messiah.

Your tagline says Revolution is in the air. Revolution has been here for a long time (see McCarthy and then see the VENOMA Project). It is a commie/socialist revolution.

What we need now (actually, we needed it in the 50s), but what we need now is a counterrevolution to save our forefathers Country (I don't think our forefathers would recognize it today). We need to counter the Ideological Subversion that is pillaging our Nation.

10 Rep's voted for the nomination.

Unfortunately I saw that after my post, further down the thread.

You're right, that's not a pair of balls, that's fear. Stupid Republicans.

so - I guess this means they have to change the policy for IRS employees that they be immediately fired if they’re caught w/ failure to report income?

At first I was totally outraged over the geithner approval. After discovering who his daddy is I’m still disgusted with the situation but, this is reality. There is a pecking order in Congress as in any club. Hey, the phrase ‘pay to play’ has meaning in politics. You’d better believe it.

Politicians know when and how to play ball when necessary. Otherwise, there is no way they would risk it by awarding the Treasury Secretary’s job to of all people, a tax cheat. Wink, wink. LOL.

Millions of telephone calls to these disgusting gonadless eunuchs is warranted, IMO. 202-225-3121 and ask for the eunuch of your choice.

Un Freaking Believable that Geithner is confirmed! Well then lets ALL of us say we don’t know how to use TURBO TAX and don’t pay our taxes, “Thre is now Legal Precedent to make it ok to do that” It was amazing that John McCain voted NO on Geith’s nom.! Good for Him. I’ve been listening to Glen Beck, He certainly has this figured out clearly.

I received a phone call as I was posting and forgot the ‘sarcasm’ tag. May throw something at my TV if one more Senator talks about how the President has a right to his choices. Where were they when Bush had all the problems getting nominees approved?

Don’t understand some of the comments and some of the votes by the GOP Senators.

The good news is that Obama is starting off his Presidency poorly. The bad news is that Obama is starting off his Presidency poorly. Our country will suffer greatly under this man - I only hope there will be a recovery, but I’m not confident there will be.

Because some Senators still believe that the President has a right to choose who he wants for his cabinet when he first takes office.

Unless of course it is a Republican president trying to get his or her nominations to be confirmed. As in the case of Bush, then all the long knives come out from the demoRATs & the left wing media & Rino republicans, and then all hell breaks lose as the Repub's nominees are put through a grueling, grilling, criminal trial type of atmosphere. Invariably the demoRATs eventually wear down & character assisinate good nominees appointed by Repubs.

When if ever will our sappy milque toast Repubs fight to win like the demoRATs.

Ohhh I hate the demoRATs with a passion, but I wish that our Repubs had 10% of the chutzpah & balls of the demoRATs.

More importantly, overriding the preposterous congressional approval of a tax cheat to the Treasury Secretary’s post is the realization that what the democrats call the “stimulus package” will actually be passed by the same congress.

It means the bill has already been considered as good as passed. Geithner with all of his baggage was approved for the express purpose of ramming this bill through as quickly as possible.

This bill will most likely wreck our economy and ruin our currency.
