Clinton Names Envoy to Handle Climate Change
Politics ^

Posted on 01/26/2009 3:09:22 PM PST by yoe

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday appointed a special envoy for climate change, vowing that the Obama administration would restore U.S. credentials and leadership in shaping environmental policy.

Pledging that the United States would play a primary role in international efforts to stem global warming, Clinton named Todd Stern, a former White House assistant who was the chief U.S. negotiator at the Kyoto Protocol talks in her husband's administration, to the post.

"American leadership is essential to meeting the challenges of the 21st century, and chief among those is the complex, urgent and global threat of climate change," she said at a State Department ceremony held shortly after President Barack Obama announced new policies to allow states greater latitude in limiting greenhouse gas emissions.

[snip] "The urgency of the global climate crisis must not be underestimated," Clinton said. "Nor should the science behind it or the facts on the ground be ignored or dismissed. The time for realism and action is now."

People who did not get the Kyoto ruse through the first time sprinting to get the job done this time. President Bush knew it would cripple America further sending jobs else where due to environmental concerns and Obama is going to see to it we all suffer like his kin in Africa; he may not realize his actions will kill entrepreneurship in America, few will be able to afford risks. Hillary, Gore and their ilk are living in the past. Watch this closely - let your elected know we will not be rail-roaded into a sham agreement that hurts the country.

Lunacy and an enormous rip off.

I’m sure the Saudi millions to Clinton has nothing to do with limiting our energy production (aka carbon emissions).

Power and control are far and above more desired than mere money. These faux ‘religions’ are just a means to convince the lesser intelligent of the world to subscribe to a policy that will enslave them.

These environmentalists have head their head so far up the UN rear, that the Kyoto treaty is their God.

he may not realize his actions will kill entrepreneurship in America,

??? Of course he realizes it. That's the whole point of the AGW hoax--to kill off private enterprise in the energy sector, thus softening up the rest of the economy.

Make no mistake: socialists care nothing for the economic welfare of the country. They care only for the seizure of power.

If you want to see the ideal socialist outcome with your very eyes, look at Zimbabwe right now.

The biggest problem in the world is global warming? Am I stupid for thinking that maybe, just maybe, we’ll all be heating our homes with scrap coal stolen off a railroad car because we can’t afford the electric bills or gas bills that we used to pay with ease.

Obama climate czar has socialist ties
Group sees 'global governance' as solution

Stephen Dinan, January 12, 2009

Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

By Thursday, Mrs. Browner's name and biography had been removed from Socialist International's Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group's congress in Greece was still available.

VENEZUELA: Chavez calls for global offensive for socialism
August 31, 2005

excerpts...

"The environment is suffering damage that could be irreversible — global warming, the greenhouse effect, the melting of the polar ice caps, the rising sea level, hurricanes — with terrible social occurrences that will shake life on this planet."

"I believe this idea has a strong connection with reality. I don't think we have much time. Fidel Castro said in one of his speeches I read not so long ago, 'tomorrow could be too late, let's do now what we need to do'."

"I believe it is time that we take up with courage and clarity a political, social, collective and ideological offensive across the world — a real offensive that permits us to move progressively, over the next years, the next decades, leaving behind the perverse, destructive, destroyer, capitalist model and go forward in constructing the socialist model to avoid barbarism and beyond that the annihilation of life on this planet."

--Hugo Chavez, at the 16th World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Caracas on August 8-15, 2005

President Bush knew it would cripple America further sending jobs else where..

Even Bill Clinton knew this.

HRC seems to not know. I think of this appointee as the "Czarina's Czar."
