Contact Your U.S. Senators-- STOP the Geithner Nomination!
by Governor Mike Huckabee
President Obama has every right to select the people he wants and trusts for his cabinet, but the United States Senate has not only the right, but the Constitutional responsibility to make sure those selections are in the best interest of the United States. Senators may not like some of his selections, but shouldn't oppose them due to purely political reasons. There ought to be something that fundamentally disqualifies a person from being confirmed. In the case of Treasury designee Timothy Geithner, they have an issue that should force President Obama to give us a better choice.
As I've said, you shouldn't RUN the IRS if you have a history of running from it.
I'm sure he's a nice man and has many endearing qualities, but not paying $34,000 in personal taxes and then saying "oops" doesn't cut it. It doesn't work that way for you.
I urge you to email or call your Senator this weekend or first thing Monday and let him or her know that giving Geithner a job as Treasury secretary is an insult to every citizen who pays his or her taxes on time. Call every talk tadio program you can and speak out. Go to the blogosphere and urge action on the part of other citizens who are outraged that a many who fails to pay his taxes will get a salary that YOUR taxes pay for. You can go to my website mikehuckabee.com and find the link to the contact information for the members of the Senate.
Go to your computer or your phone. Do it now. Let your voice be heard. If you don't speak out, then you are saying it's okay for the people who run the tax system to skip paying what you have to pay. You might be a strong supporter of President Obama and I'm not asking you to stop-I'm asking you to join me in asking the Senators of our nation to not do disservice to the President and the taxpayers by confirming Timothy Geithner to being Secretary of the Treasury.
Email or call now....the vote on him may be as early as Monday. There is time to stop it.
For a complete listing of the contact information for every Senator go here.
And no, there's nothing similar posted on Fred Thompson's page (www.fred08.com) opposing Obama's nominee.
We need to call our congresscritters to STOP THE BAIL-OUT and stop ERIC HOLDER as well!
mikehuckabee.com. LOL. I didn’t know anyone had registered that domain.

Sent via email to my Senators this morning:
Cabinet nominations: Timothy Geithner/Eric Holder
Dear Senator XXXXXXXXXXX:
I an utterly appalled that either of these men are being seriously considered for Cabinet-level positions.
Timothy Geithner received numerous memoranda and explicit instructions from the IMF regarding the tax treatment of payments received from IMF; for him to claim that his multi-year non-payment of taxes due was inadvertent or accidental is at the least ludicrous and at the most, borders on perjury.
Shouldnt the Secretary of the Treasury serve as a positive example of voluntary citizen complicance with the tax laws? Clearly, Mr. Geithner does not. To put him in charge at Treasury would be like putting Alberto Espinoza Barron in charge of the DEA.
From my point of view, hes given all of us the finger. Need I bring up the infamous Leona Helmsley quote?
Eric Holders associations with the last-minute Clinton pardons, among which the Marc Rich pardon and the pardons of the FALN terrorists stand out, leave ethical questions open which to this day remain unanswered.
And how can we appoint as our chief law enforcement officer a man who stated in the Chiquita case, There is no clearly defined rule of international law prohibiting material support of terrorism.
Lastly, his stands on Second Amendment issues make him completely unpalatable to Second Amendment advocates.
I urge you to vote against confirmation of both of these men should their nominations make it out of the Judiciary Committee.
Anyone still have the Mike Huckabee ping list?
I called my Senators last week. I told them at best the guy’s naive or just plain stupid. At worst, he’s a tax cheat. And besides, do we want somebody as head of the Treasury who’s about to be sued by TurboTax for defamation.
fat chance. I get hung up on.
I'll email both my senators, but sadly it won't do much good -- one is Dick Durbin and the other is Roland Burris.
Sorry Mike. Holder is the priority to stop, not Geithner.
Already did, this morning. Brownback and Roberts were already in agreement, so there’s two for the good guys!
Stop ‘em both!
But I agree Holder would be even worse. Stop 'em both!
Called on Friday!
Uh, right. I’ll notify Ted Kennedy and John Kerry right away!
Absolutely.
And thanks for appreciating the deftness with which I turned those words.
sure they’ll listen especially when you tell them that you are wanting to see the next 4 years of coming together with no partisanship
ARF
called my senators (FL)- Martinez (RINO) plans on opposing nomination according to West Palm Beach office staff- washington mailbox full, as usual, when important issues up. Still trying to reach bill nelsons (D) office in DC, phone lines busy. will continue to try.
Post results of your calls so we see who needs work!!
Huckabee said on Jan 10th on his show that Obama will be his president on Jan 20th.
He said he hopes that Obama is successful.
Therefore endorsing his liberal agenda.
He talked to his good friend Jerry Springer (who has a show that has naked women fighting on stage) who said about Obama being president “What a wonderful moment for America” and Huckabee didn't dispute that statement.
Now he doesn't support Present Obama's agenda?
Maybe cuz the Fredheads felt the need to constantly claim how Fred was the reincarnation of Ronald Reagan and so much better than “socialist” Mike Huckabee?
