When it comes to selling his policies, foreign or domestic, it looks like Pres. Obama will be able to count on a helping hand from ABC. Yesterday we noted how, now that the problem has landed in Pres. Obamas lap, ABC suddenly discovered that closing Gitmo isnt as easy as it had been cracked up to be.
Today, the economy was the focus. Pres. Obama is proposing a massive government program. And . . . what a coincidence! The network whose Sunday talk show host shed tears of joy during the inauguration just happens to declare that the only way consumer confidence can be restored is by massive government help.
Weekend co-anchor Kate Snow narrated the segment, part of a new series entitled Whats The Fix? that examines what the Obama administration can do to fix various problems. The particular problem today was the lack of consumer confidence. Snow illustrated the problem with the story of a relatively well-to-do family that is still sitting in its wallet.
Then came ABCs proposed fix. Reducing prices was discarded as only a short-term solution? The ultimate fix that will be required? You guessed it.

We’re from the government and we’re here to restore your confidence. Ping to Today show list.
Don’t forget the WaPo’s eager above-the-fold story today on how Al Qaeda is frantically calling Obama mean names.
Whenever I hear (on the radio) “here’s the latest from ABC news”, I change the station or turn the radio off.
I have every confidence in my government to do the right thing for us and restore our confidence in ourselves. After all, O says this is the new era of personal responsibility.
Sure.....
It takes real tax-paying (and I do mean income tax) working people of all incomes, expecially those who buy things like refrigerators, stoves, cars they really can afford and a host of other manufactured goods not related to those things that can be bought with EIC progress payments to make a difference in the economy. All this government will succeed in doing is to add more deadbeat voters to their Democratic freeloader column.
In the end, all they will have succeeded at is destroying individualism, responsibility and freedom at the expense of creating an Idiocracy.
Everything government touches turns to s***!
The problem is that America has been prosperous for so long, people can’t imagine its absence. Government regulation and the destruction of free enterprise will destroy incentive and, like all socialist countries, all that will be left is an all powerful government that discovers it must impose force and fear to motivate productivity. The result is a command economy that ponderously and inefficiently tries to respond to economic need with misguided production quotas, substandard consumer goods and chronic shortages.

Me too. I can’t stand to listen to them.
And a lot of the so called Public Service Announcement adds
are insulting to me.
Fascism has arrived, and it’s riding a dark horse....
And, just like hitler, an adoring media and academia are leading the way.
There, fixed it!
Regards,
This guy is a fool.
Nothing is going to stimulate the economy AT THIS POINT except giving monies to the lowest income folks who will have to put the money back into the system to survive....basically, more welfare...but it'll get spent.
Spend, save...Congress...make up your mind. The 401k'ers have taken the beating.
I'm sooooo confused.
It’s going to be a difficult recovery with idiots/enemies of the free market leading the sheeple.
Can we all say “BIMBO” What an empty headed, big eared, artificially blonde automaton.
Well said. The only way we're going to kill this beast called massive government spending and debt is to starve it to death.
There is little incentive to work harder when the government is just going to take more and more of your money and spend it to buy votes and enrich their rich Wall St. buddies.
Most of us are just watching out for ourselves now - every man/woman for themselves. Make as little as you can in order to pay your bills and spend as little as you can to keep tax money from being poured down local, state and federal rat holes.
Stiffen Obasma's resolve, Kate!
