PLAINFIELD, N.J. - Dozens of unemployed Central American immigrants who lost their jobs and can't afford to pay rent have moved into caves, reports El Diario/La Prensa. Immigrants have been living in the makeshift homes in Plainfield and North Plainfeld, N.J. for three months, and call their new residence the Devils Cave. Their decision to move into caves is a testament to the harsh climate of the current economic crisis, which has had a greater impact on the undocumented who have more difficulty accessing government aid after losing their jobs.
Before you believe this, check the source. This site claim they are “expanding the news lens through ethnic media”, whatever the heck than means.
My guess is this story is made of whole cloth and my bet is there is no one living in the nonexistent caves in Plainfield. But to liberals the lack of truth is not disqualifying. The story, any story, is valid just so long as it evokes the “proper” emotion and points the finger at the day’s template villain. And this story does just that.
Maybe Barney Franks can make room for them in his basement???
What needs to be done with all illegals is put next door to all Comgress. Let them worry about themselves and there family ever time they go out door.....if they will be killed or murdered by illegals? Illegals have killed and murdered more than we have lots in War. Something else we are not being told.
If we sent all the CROOKS in Congress & those who work for in Congress (States & cities as well) to prison we would be left with only about 2%—of them.
We US Citizens need a BOSTON TEA PARTY of all elected officials in USA! NOW!
They could go back to their own countries.
lol, i was thinking the same thing... there seems to be many abandoned factories, lofts, etc. why don't the state, municipal governments and social-service community organizations/community “obama” organizers do something about it? why haven't they done something all these years?
/“just words” no action
Good read!
Professor’s research finds Hispanics don’t assimilate easily
http://www.gilroydispatch.com/news/252848-professors-research-finds-hispanics-dont-assimilate-easily
Some highlights from the report:
Hispanics in America
America’s largest minority group and fastest-growing ethnic group lags behind others in aspects of American life.
College enrollment
* Forty-five percent of young Hispanics were enrolled in college in 2006, compared with 49 percent of blacks and 61 percent of Anglos.
Teenage births
* Hispanics ages 15 to 19 had the highest birthrate of any group in 2005. There were nearly 105 such births per 1,000 for Hispanics, 61 for blacks and 26 for Anglos.
Becoming citizens
* In 2005, only 10 percent to 30 percent of eligible Mexican immigrants became U.S. citizens, compared with 50 to 65 percent of European immigrants and 65 to 70 percent of Asian immigrants. Mexican immigrant applications for citizenship jumped nearly 50 percent last year, partly because of Hispanic organizations’ push for citizenship and a rush of people trying to apply before higher fees took effect.
Civic involvement
* Less than a third of Hispanics volunteered for neighborhood or civic groups, compared with 38 percent of blacks and 40 percent of Anglos.
It we're not careful, we could see a proliferation of the sorts of shanty towns that are so ubiquitous to Latin America.
These shanty towns were created by poor people moving from the coutryside to the large cities looking for work. They had literally nothing, so they could not afford to even rent in the cheapest neighborhoods in the cities. Thus they constructed for themselves shanties on the outskirts, typically squatting on government land or private land whose owners were away.
If we're not careful, and don't enforce our immigration laws, the same thing could start happening here.

Probably because, like with all other instances where ‘they know’, they know that without an effectively secured border, they will return tomorrow. [all other public roundups and deportations by ICE are merely dog and pony shows...that’s why the employers are never prosecuted.]
The bipartisan CFR’s agenda does not include an effectively secured border. It includes security of the perimeter of the continent [that’s why the border was not secured on 9/12 and that’s why our military was later sent, unarmed.]
If the intention is no border between countries, sending them south is a waste of time & money.
El Diario/La Prensa endorses Senator Barack Obama as the leader ready to redirect the United States of America towards its promise.
Senator Obama wisely opposed Bushs misguided and immoral charge into Iraq. From Corona to Washington Heights, Latinos have suffered the devastating effects of this war. Senator Obama has pledged to bring the sons and daughters who are serving in Iraq back home by 2010.
Senator Obama has correctly identified that trickle-down economics are not addressing the inequities Americans face. As our economy continues to unravel, Latinos and African Americans are disproportionately affected by foreclosures. Senator Obama has proposed a 90-day moratorium on foreclosures so that some lenders and homeowners can renegotiate terms.
Other problems demand attention. Graduation rates in the United States lag behind that of most other wealthy nations. Senator Obama has committed to investing in schools and to making higher education more accessible.
When you make up stories it's hard to get the 'facts' straight. The story is supposed to make your heart bleed not tell the truth. Now, get it line you 'right-wing heartless & stupid' person. /s
From the title, I thought that our illegal amigos had decided to move up into the Watchung Mountains. They better be careful, as Cabrito and Corona attract Osos Negros.
