BUMP!
One can only take so much. RIP
Oh, I don’t know, does life imitate art or does art imitate life. I think it might have more to do with all the gays who are in the ad agencies these days.
Oh no! I wonder if his family knows he will forever be immortalized on FR?
Any techies like me will also recognize the pic from the O’Reilly “Head First” series of books.
.
As I recall, that little girl is an American from Detroit. She was a real cutie-pie!
All this time, I thought she was an Iraqi.
Oh. My. Goodness. Eddie Hopper is spinning in his grave ! ;-D
He might look better as Venus, with all that long flowing hair and such. ;-)
Iraqi-American, I think. It was so long ago. That little girl is a teenager by now.
Jim Horne was the very first GQ cover model in an era when male modeling called for a good beating. And he got that.
Despite it all he kept trying, getting gigs in advertising, fashion, commercials and actual acting. If I recall one commercial correctly he was good to the point of distracting from the product (an analgesic cream?). I have to believe he had one of those extremely bad agents. Perhaps this explains that famous picture “Oh Geez”.
Rest easy, Jim. Bad agents all end up in hell.
I'll bet he drank martini's, at lunch no less, smoked cigarettes, called women "honey" and "darling", hated the bastard commies and bought the car with biggest damn engine available. He'd be in prison for all that now. He's definitely in a better place.
Great find, and fast. I have always said FR is a large “distributed super super computer”.
This is perfect proof. How would you even ask google to find who was being talked about and come up with “Jim Thorne”?
Pretty amazing if you think about it.
Well they found the Indian? girl with green eyes who appeared on a magazine cover as girl. Perhaps there is still hope for Looty.

That was an Afghani girl ,, they found her in Pakistan http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2002/04/afghan-girl/index-text ,, she has had a hard life and has not aged well..
Yes, thanks, That pic was posted in post 39.
She looks very rough. Easily looks like 50 rather than 30. :-O
I always thought that guy was Desi Arnez. Any idea what the original intent of the photo was?
