PRESIDENT OBAMA TAKES ON RUSH LIMBAUGH IN NEW MEDIA WAR
WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.
"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts.
"There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats," the official said. "We shouldn't let partisan politics derail what are very important things that need to get done."
That wasn't Obama's only jab at Republicans today.

Zer0Bambi debate Rush Limbuagh.
0 can't articulate a thought/idea w/o a teleprompter.
Bad move, 0 will get stomped flat...."presidential prestige" on the line, 0WH loses big time. Zer0 reason for the contest: *snicker* "b/c his wittle fweeling got hurt."
Rush "the Last Man Standing" Limbuagh, Isn't Kissing Zer0s' @$$, unlike the MSM Karaoke (APoop/NYT/WaPoop/ABCNNBcBS/pBS/FauxNCBC) "Journalists" *double Snicker* Choir , Zer0 is so used to.
This is merely political self-preservation. Obama doesn’t want to have the “stimulus” I mean spending plan pushed through without Republican votes.
Even if they get a handful in the House and Senate the media will declare it bi-partisan. This of course being the opposite of when the roles are reversed and Democrats would join the Republicans in passing Bush’s tax cuts, etc.
Obama wants the political cover. If you notice people are already backtracking on the effectiveness of the job creation in this massive boondoggle and it hasn’t even been passed yet.
That’s a very bad sign.
So really what Obama is doing here is playing politics. It’s due to this issue.
Notice, he had no qualms in unilaterally forcing taxpayers to pay for international abortions. No need to even discuss that. It was just sign and spend and kill those babies.
So sorry, but I see this one clear as day.
This man means business. He has people in the proper position of power to make things very hard.
Only if he can shut then out of the world wide web.
There is also off shore broadcasting (ok thats a stretch.)
“The arrogance is appalling.”
He’s a punk.
Pure jealousy. ozero is a sick, sick bass turd.
It does sound petty. He’d better turn off the radio, tv, and quit reading newspapers if he’s going to take offense at everything that’s said about him. He’s the President now, and can’t vote “present” anymore. As Harry Truman used to say “The buck stop here” and Obama better get used to criticism. The sad part is, people that take offense easily are usually very insecure...something you don’t want in a CIC.

Guess Barack Hussien Obama aka Barry Soetoro from Indonesia will need to do something about The Globe too. It takes the Globe and the Enquirer to report what the Media wont!
Are you sure about that?
Very true. But while Rush does know this, I fear his ego is going to get the best of him.
This is not good. Not good I tell you. You realize he has Peggy Noonan and John McCain on HIS side?Yup. Just watch, he's going to vacuum up all the RINOs and use them as "good republicans" to hammer the few remaining conservatives. Peggy and Juan will lap up the opportunity to knife them in the back.
Rush was just saying today the first thing the new administration would try to do is separate the republicans from their constituents.
“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he told top GOP leaders”
This is one scarily small man...
“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,”
Translation.
“We won, you lost, we are going to get the things that we want done, free speech and all this talk about getting along is over. Go along with 100% of what we say and we will get along fine.”
I think you’re right. There has been a steady pattern of mentions of Rush in the mainstream press. For 20 years they thought they could just ignore him, that, as big as his audence is, he only plays to an extremist fringe that can be surrounded and neutralized.
And in some sense, the demonization of Rush has succeeded. We all know that Rush is brilliant. We listen to him regularly. But even 20 million is far from a majority of the voters in the country. Most people don’t listen to him and they only know about him from the MSM and they are immoveably convinced he’s a crackpot.
Obama is not going after the 20 million who know who Limbaugh is. He’s going after those who don’t. The more Rush is demonized, the more his audience gets hermetically sealed off.
So the challenge is for Rush to break through the seals and reach the 60 million voters who don’t listen to him.
In the interim, at the very least it ought to show the handful of Republican Congresscritters who “get it”—that Obama is going to play hardball with his majority—what they are up against. Kyl and Cornyn already understood the stakes. I suppose Coburn did but thought he’d at least go through the motions of “making nice.” Perhaps now Coburn will rejoin Rush as one of the “last men standing.”
They can’t stop or even modify the faux-stimulus package. They are going to be shut out of policy-making entirely.
They ought to put their effort into a media strategy that would somehow, from the start, make sure that as many people as possible in the country know that after the “stimulus” package passes, Obama owns the outcome and gets the blame for the next ten years of misery.
How to achieve that, I don’t know but it seems like that’s about all that’s left to the opposition except in areas where the Blue Dog Democrats join in (opposition to FOCA, for instance).
Regardless of how he vowed to stay in touch with the “people” he is in a bubble now. He might be able to whip crowd into a frenzy on occasion, but not on a regular basis, one whistle stop after another.
His supporters will see less and less of him. He will lose touch. On camera Reagan could reach a out and touch us on camera. Obama cannot. Obama could not stand on a pile of rubble with a megaphone saying “I hear you and soon the whole world will hear you.”
My hunch is that Obama will reveal himself bit by bit. He is no Bill Clinton. He certainly is not a BS artist. He cannot wing it.
If not for the War on Terrorism, this could be fun to watch.
“No, no, no! DONT send him to Indonesia. Im in Indonesia. I dont want him here. We already have Jim Guy Tucker here (or at least we did a year or so ago, I havent checked lately). Dont send Caligula here. One of the best things about being here is that he is not. Let him go to Kenya.”
Now who’s being just plain petty. What’s an ocean here or there, even if it is the Pacific. Surely there’s room somewhere on some island in the Archipelago off the.....Marianas, yeah. That’s it.
Aren’t the oceans rising yet? ;>
I've noticed this in him all along, and yet his fans shriek about his "wanting to hear all sides" and such. It's simply not true--he merely offers the pretense of such.
Michael Barone warned, mildly, that when he met Obama he observed that he showed evidence of being wildly overconfident. That plus an inability to stand other points of view is a scary combination. What happens when Israel and Palestine don't just agree to get along, will he stomp out of the room?
He's got John Kerry's haughtiness and Al Gore's arrogance. That's some combo.
