I just started reading the new book (Guilty) today.
I actually just finished rereading “Slander” this morning. That book is still relevant, and BTW still terrific.
I've only read so far a bit more than 50 pages of Guilty, but already I discern (again) that Ann Coulter is a national treasure.
There is no excuse for FReepers to remain uninformed!

Why can I only play 10 seconds before it cancels out on me?
I am still having that same difficulty watching the videos on popmodal from my laptop/wireless connection. :(
But, Ann's ENTIRE appearance on Dr. Phil now appears to be on YouTube -- in a format that allows me to download it to my hard drive, and then play it from there, here:

From
gayconservative.org:
Coulter Spanks McClellan on "Dr. Phil"
January 26, 2009 · 1 Comment
FINALLY - someone posted this interview in both parts on youtube. Until today, only PopModal(the conservative alternative to youtube) had it. Now, I am guessing that it took a conservative on youtube to post it as well.
It is certainly one of those rare appearances where the host (just as Jay Leno was a few years ago) was absolutely polite to Ann Coulter.
On the other shows including Today and The View, the hosts had biases about Ann Coulter way before she came on. Thats why in both appearances, she had the hardest time getting out a full sentence before she was interrupted. The fear sets in their eyes as she starts to make great points, because heaven forbid, someone might agree with her.
This was the case on Dr. Phil. The audience was apparently not pre-screened for "liberal only" as they are on shows like The View.
In this interview, Ann explains the true concerns on Obama, the media love fest for him, and finally gives Scott McClellan the biggest beating hes been deserving since stabbing the President in a back a few months ago.
When the moment comes, Dr. Phil enjoys every bit of it as well as the audience.
On youtube now and in other articles, liberals are whining and suggesting that Ann Coulter be moderated. She didnt need to be moderated. Unlike Joy Behar and Whoppi Goldberg, Dr. Phil is actually able to get through a conversation without screaming. This interview was fair and all got to answer completely and be heard.
Moderation to a liberal means screaming over your conservative guest, filling the audience with liberals, then replaying it on youtube and marking it: Ann Coulter gets Pwned on The View!
Yeah, I know, pwned isnt a word, yet liberals still feel the need to use it.
Also, in the second video, note how the audience responds when Ann points out where the venom truly resides in politics.

And, from
the COMMENTS section at gayconservative.org:
Steve, thanks so much for posting this!
I normally turn the tv off when Ann Coulter comes on, because her abrasive style on most talk shows irritates me.
She does exhaustively research and document EVERYTHING she says, though, so I dont usually just toss her facts in the trash bin.
But she really did come off differently in this format.
Funny, and much more polite and easy to talk to.
Very interesting.
My opinion has not changed of Scott McClellan, though. He was not the man for the job and had the further misfortune of being stuck between two awesome talents.
Anns observations about the Inaugural and the venom being one sided were spot on - and incredibly well delivered.

And, from the OTHER side, at the COMMENTS section of
www.towleroad.com:
In somewhat related news, did anyone watch Ann Coulter on Dr. Phil yesterday? I tuned in (albeit reluctantly as I did not wish to give any airtime credence to such a repugnant individual) and was stunned that an Oprah produced Dr. Phil would even allow Ann Coulter on his show. The topic was "Obama: Hope vs. Reality".
I do not know who picked the audience members for the taping but from the fact that any time Ann Coulter spoke or even coughed a good portion (or so it seemed) of the audience cheered.
Ms Coulter stated that, in her very humble opinion, it isn't both parties who have been aggressively attacking one another "for the past two decades" (as Pres. Obama has stated) but "the other side" that has been aggressively attacking. Now, keep in mind that Ms. Coulter has been on record as referring to Vice Pres. Al Gore and Pres. Bill Clinton as "fags" (Chris Matthews "Hardball" 2007), and certainly in her Joan Collins-esque "books" she has made any inflammatory comments towards "the other side". I was even more stunned when one woman in the audience during credits pointed this fact out, which Ms Coulter vehemently denied by shouting over the audience member, much to the delight of some audience members.
Note to Ms. Coulter: it might do you well to step outside of that little box you live in and open your eyes to "reality". I could list many, many facts from "your side" regarding the truth behind bipartisanship, such as the Republican Right's need to take away human rights through such discrimination veiled in "law" as Proposition 8, that would clearly demonstrate the vitriol that foams from the mouths of such political pundits as Sean Hannity, but I fear that would be as beneficial as arguing logic to a telephone pole...
Hears hoping that Dr. Phil follows up with actual political figures who aren't selling themselves through books and half truths. Dr., you have some s'plaining ta do...
- snip --
It's amazing to me that no one else, besides Rachel Maddow, has even talked about this interview.
Nothing at all. It appears to me that, for some reason beyond me, the press is going to give Bush/Cheney a pass on this and everything else. Even after they are gone!!

LOL!
So, Jen -- can you use your influence as a powerful member of the online community to find a few articulate women in southern California...
...who might want to go on the Dr. Phil show when Ann comes back -- in early February...
....to be interviewed as a someone who represents
OUR side of this "single mother" issue, i.e. that the BEST way to raise a child is with BOTH a mother AND a father?

I’ll post a blog entry about it, but I don’t know anyone personally.
I wish I could go be on the show...My blog is dedicated to empowering mothers to be as self sufficient as possible. And I have quite a few opinions about mothers and fathers raising children. Paul and I have five - age 6 to 20 and I have always been a stay at home mom.
In the various Mommy chat rooms where I have participated, it became crystal clear that many of the single mothers were liberals simply because they wanted the government to provide housing, health care, and food so that they did not have to bother with a husband.
I think overall they had good intentions, wanting to stay home and care for babes and small children - especially those who were planning to breastfeed, (which is a full time job done best with a loving spouse providing necessities of life so Mom can focus on the babe), but some of them became quite indignant when I claimed husbands working to provide and mom staying home was the ideal for the BABY!
The political chat room at Mothering Magazines Discussion room banned me because I kept yelling conservative principles.
Ann is right, we have to talk about what is best for the children, who are the true victims in the intentional single mother trend. Perhaps mothers don’t want a man/husband/father in their life, but you can bet those children want a father, they ache to have a loving Dad around full time.
