President Obama yesterday eliminated the most controversial tools employed by his predecessor against terrorism suspects. With the stroke of his pen, he effectively declared an end to the "war on terror," as President George W. Bush had defined it, signaling to the world that the reach of the U.S. government in battling its enemies will not be limitless.
While Obama says he has no plans to diminish counterterrorism operations abroad, the notion that a president can circumvent long-standing U.S. laws simply by declaring war was halted by executive order in the Oval Office.
Key components of the secret structure developed under Bush are being swept away: The military's Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, facility, where the rights of habeas corpus and due process had been denied detainees, will close, and the CIA is now prohibited from maintaining its own overseas prisons. And in a broad swipe at the Bush administration's lawyers, Obama nullified every legal order and opinion on interrogations issued by any lawyer in the executive branch after Sept. 11, 2001.

Ironically, I happened to have my mother’s Bible sitting next to my desk from yesterday (an unrelated issue and I just laid it down and haven’t put it away). Even more ironically is that the little ribbon in her Bible was placed EXACTLY on Psalm 140.
Ok, maybe not so “ironically”, but the Lord, He sure do work in mysterious ways and sometimes coincidences aren’t really coincidences.
I am waiting for the revamp of Homeland Security. I have heard moonbats rage about the term “Homeland” from the beginning and they have no response when asked what they would call it.
I said to my husband yesterday, that if the WOT is over, does that mean we can now fly without all the hassle and the security restrictions? Isn’t there some penumbra that makes freedom of travel a Constitutional Right?

Because "conservatives" are the problem--genuine conservatives aren't.
The other problem with the GOP being that NO ONE is held to account. (When have conservatives of any kind been "held to account?")
I seem to see a lot of talk about RINOs here--and rightly so. So let's not pretend everyone is out to get us.
We have power. We just have to use it instead of just talking about it.
Seeing how Romney's abortion position is exactly that of Ronald Reagan's--pro-abortion while governor, changes after--I don't see that's such a problem.
And the amount of Mormon bashing going on here sure says otherwise about that not being a problem.
But I guess you're right: Obama is a MUCH better choice.

There was no doubt in my mind on Nov 5th. I prayed for some consolation and guidance, opened the Bible to psa 140.
Last year, my wife bought me a new bible. I was looking through it and found a folded down corner. I straightened the corner but read the page before moving on. It had the story that had my daughter’s name in it, the only place this name occurs in the bible, by the way.
There’s a movie I like called Across the Universe whose story line is Beatle’s songs. In one scene, the main character Lucy walks in on friends who are building a bomb in that town house. She leaves in disgust. The building blows up. Now that I know it was Ayer’s girlfriend who was at the table, I laugh even harder.
I agree, when we are attacked on American soil, Obama will use the opportunity to try to significantly diminish the rights of American citizens. The MSM will be cheering him on. and the vast majority of Republican Senators and Representatives will quietly acquiesce.
In three years, when your son hits 18, he will probably be drafted into the newly create Obama Homeland Security Force.
Obama knows that. That is why he will push for a separate Homeland Security Force. What type of people do you think will sign up for that force?

When Texas had the primaries, we had no say at all. I did NOT vote for Mctraitor.
I have the same feeling. Texas had no way in the (R) candidate this year. I think the RNC should close primaries for Republicans only. We got the Mctraitor because of the DBM and crossover dims.

Obama Homeland Security Force is a mouthful. Maybe it will just be called the Obama Youth.
His base already believe they have sacrificed long enough and have been promised justice and prosperity. It won't take a year to figure out other than an image to look upon their lives have not changed.
At this moment President Bush, in spite of what liberals attempted to tear down, has these terrorist just hunting shelters to hide.
Thus far Bama appears to me to be nothing more than an image who speaks what he is told to speak.
There are more players on the scene than just the jihads.
