President Obama yesterday eliminated the most controversial tools employed by his predecessor against terrorism suspects. With the stroke of his pen, he effectively declared an end to the "war on terror," as President George W. Bush had defined it, signaling to the world that the reach of the U.S. government in battling its enemies will not be limitless.
While Obama says he has no plans to diminish counterterrorism operations abroad, the notion that a president can circumvent long-standing U.S. laws simply by declaring war was halted by executive order in the Oval Office.
Key components of the secret structure developed under Bush are being swept away: The military's Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, facility, where the rights of habeas corpus and due process had been denied detainees, will close, and the CIA is now prohibited from maintaining its own overseas prisons. And in a broad swipe at the Bush administration's lawyers, Obama nullified every legal order and opinion on interrogations issued by any lawyer in the executive branch after Sept. 11, 2001.

Just wait until the jihadis finally blow up and American school, mall, or hospital, and we’ll see how fast Obama changes his mind.
Not a real war--but a "war". It was one man's fantasy.
And now we're free of all THAT silliness.
Oy...
So what’s the over under on how long til the mooselimb crazies hit the U.S. like 9-11 again?
Ya know with the “magic negro” in charge it’s gonna happen.
Sorry, but 0bama will only use an attack on American soil to declare a state of emergency, call out the military, and take away our guns. Elections have consequences. Thank you RNC for running a moderate Republican, well liked by the press.
Thank you "conservatives" for not getting behind one of the other candidates.
The melt down and liquidation from within has been initiated.
And it was not one mans war, nor fantasy.
The war has been on for over 1300 years.
Those who lose sight of that WILL allow the melt down to continue.
From HumanEvents.com, April 29, 2008:
"By all accounts, he [Obama friend and associate, Bill Ayers] was a ferocious, violent, revolutionary Marxist in his halcyon days as a Weatherman leader. He and his Weatherman bombers were enamored of Ho Chi Minh, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Mao Tse-tung -- indeed, all the murderous heroes on the Left. Referring to the Weatherman members in August 1969, he said (according to the FBI): 'Were revolutionary Communists.'
He got off on the groups multiple explosions, too, and discusses them rather lovingly in his memoir.
Ideal Bombing Weather:
'Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon,' he writes (although he concedes it was really a group effort). 'The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.' (p. 256 in the 2003 edition.)

March 6, 1970: "three members of the Weather Underground accidentally killed themselves in a Manhattan townhouse while attempting to build a powerful bomb they had intended to plant at a social dance in Fort Dix, New Jersey -- an event that was to be attended by U.S. Army soldiers. Hundreds of lives could have been lost had the plot been successfully executed."

2007 Fort Dix attack plot
A group of six radical Islamist[1] men, allegedly plotting to stage an attack on the Fort Dix military base in New Jersey, United States, were arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on May 7, 2007. They were subsequently charged with planning an attack against U.S. soldiers. The alleged aim of the six men was said to be to "kill as many soldiers as possible".[2] Their trial began on October 20, 2008. [3]
Opening arguments were presented on October 20, 2008.
Assistant U.S. Attorney William Fitzpatrick said the defendants were inspired by jihad saying "Their motive was to defend Islam. Their inspiration was Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.
the consequences of the botched Republican nominating process and McCain campaign begin to come into full view. In big and small ways, the campaign and , of course the press, failed to prosecute candidate Obama on the massive jeopardy to which he is willing to subject the nation in order to display a set of scruples not derived from American history (Harry Truman dropped the A-bomb on Japanese civilians, you don’t have to go any further than that to understand what American war-making was about), but from some Utopian socialist agenda whose aim is to break down the national sovereignty of the U.S. McCain’s “me-too” on torture disarmed him , and gifting Obama with 45 minutes less debate time on foreign policy in the first debate, even scotched any chance that the misdirected vision of Obama would be revealed.
Dana Priest has had BDS for many years. She really should get treatment.
All she really knows here is that Bambi declared an end to torture, ordered Gitmo closed in a year and stated that he would, in effect, follow the existing plans involving Iraq and Afghanistan.
I really doubt that he will ever actually pull all of the combat brigades out of Iraq, though.
If we now have the luxury to worry about such things, it's because of how the war was waged until now. If the threat grows again, you can be sure it will be portrayed as "anger caused by Bush's torture tactics" or somesuch nonsense.
Don’t forget that his first official phone call as President was to Mohammed Abbas.
We must begin now to re-vamp the party rules that allow people other than registered Republicans to vote in our primaries. When Independents/same-day-registered “Republicans” can vote, the Dems aided by their shills in the press control the person ‘we’ select. The result is McCain and then Obama.

The Real Story Behind Rev. Wright's Controversial Black Liberation Theology Doctrine

[special Friday night edition--original airdate May 2, 2008]
(some key excerpts)
["(Jose) Diaz-Balart is the son of Rafael Diaz-Balart y Guitierrez (a former Cuban politician). He has three bothers, Rafael Diaz-Balart (a banker), Mario Diaz-Balart (a US Congressman) and Lincoln Diaz-Balart (also a US Congressman). His aunt, Mirta Diaz-Balart, was Fidel Castro's first wife."

JOSE DIAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO NETWORK: "Liberation theology in Nicaragua in the mid-1980's was a pro-Sandinista, pro-Marxist, anti-U.S., anti-Catholic Church movement. That's it. No ifs, ands, or buts. His church apparently supported, in the mid-'80s in Nicaragua, groups that supported the Sandinista dictatorships and that were opposed to the Contras whose reason for being was calling for elections. That's all I know. I was there.
I saw the churches in Nicaragua that he spoke of, and the churches were churches that talked about the need for violent revolution and I remember clearly one of the major churches in Managua where the Jesus Christ on the altar was not Jesus Christ, he was a Sandinista soldier, and the priests talked about the corruption of the West, talked about the need for revolution everywhere, and talked about 'the evil empire' which was the United States of America."
REV. BOB SCHENCK, NATIONAL CLERGY COUNCIL: "it's based in Marxism. At the core of his [Wright's] theology is really an anti-Christian understanding of God, and as part of a long history of individuals who actually advocate using violence in overthrowing those they perceive to be oppressing them, even acts of murder have been defended by followers of liberation theology. That's very, very dangerous."
SCHENCK: "I was actually the only person escorted to Dr. Wright. He asked to see me, and I simply welcomed him to Washington, and then I said Dr. Wright, I want to bring you a warning: your embrace of Marxist liberation theology. It is contrary to the Gospel, and you need, sir, to abandon it. And at that he dropped the handshake and made it clear that he was not in the mood to dialogue on that point."

"Why did it take a bunch of Arabs to do what you all should have done a long time ago?"
August, 2003: Ward Churchill Caught On Tape Advocating Terrorism [vs Fellow Americans]
Audio link at Michell Malkin's website (included below)
Question from audience:
You mentioned a little bit ago, "Why did it take a bunch of Arabs to do what you all should have done a long time ago," that's my question.
Churchill: I'm gonna repeat that, tell me if I got that right: Why shouldn't we do something and how do you you move so they don't see you coming.
As to the first part, not a reason in the world that I could see. I can't find a single reason that you shouldn't in a principled way there may be some practical considerations, such as do you know how (laughter from audience)
you know, often these things are processes. It's not just an impulse. And certainly it's not just an event.
And the simple answer, although it probably should be more complicated, but I'm not being flip and giving the simple answer, is:
You carry the weapon. That's how they don't see it coming. You're the one...
They talk about "color blind or blind to your color." You said it yourself.
You don't send the Black Liberation Army into Wall Street to conduct an action.
You don't send the American Indian Movement into downtown Seattle to conduct an action.
Who do you send? You. Your beard shaved, your hair cut close, and wearing a banker's suit.
There's probably a whole lot more to it, you know that. But there's where you start. .."

And in hopping to the job he appeased and placated the host nations of the criminals.... basically all islam states... all applauded his actions. All US’s enemies revelled in the move.
Now all he has to do is start dismantling the CIA and the military. Thats probably monday’s business.
.Or the American people change Presidents.
When the scenario you describe happens, then Joe Biden will try to tell us he told us so.
Then is when the American people need to give these two grifters the heave-ho.
I think this - like the call to Abbas - is simply the start of his pro-Muslim strategy.
