We have discussed both on the dose and privately via freepmail as to what we may do in the future of the dose.
It is suggested that a thread is posted where anyone can post photos or news of George W Bush and if you so wish any other member of his administration as to what they are doing or hope to do in the future and the idea is that this thread will cover January 2009 news and photos as well as being a recap of the last few days of the George W Bush Presidency plus events that took place a few hours afterwards in Texas and for the Vice President in Wyoming.
Enjoy the ongoing Sanity Island for January 2009
Hi, Deb!! (((hugs)))
Good to see that you and hubby got home fine. I know after two
long drives and a wonderful afternoon of standing in waiting
for our president, you are completely worn out! LOL!
It is a memory of a lifetime and I will NEVER forget what we
saw and heard. I DO regret that we were to tired to get dinner
afterwards. I came home and collapsed. Hubby made me an omlette, bless his heart!
I hope you get a chance to do some things for the Bush Library.
I would love to help if I knew what to do!
Take care...see ya when I get a ping!
I WILL have that DVD!
Thank you, snugs. This is what I was looking for. It's so sweet and loving. I read somewhere of Pres. Bush being compared to Aslan of the C.S. Lewis hero in “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe”. I can see the comparison. I wonder if the future will be like the ending of the book where Aslan returns to save the good people and defeat the bad?
Jenna and Barbara’s video/advice to Sasha and Malia was really moving. It doesn’t suprise me how much they love their “loving daddy” when you see the profound love and respect W has for his parents. What a loving nurturing family!
Thanks for the link to the new library. I also noted we now have an address to send cards, letters and the like.

I found this on a blog about White House decoy which seems to suggest that regarding the rug it was I believed that each President designs their own.
“As for the rugs - they are replacing worn rugs and are not the official Oval Office rug, which each president designs; Bushs was done in 2001. Obama will use Bushs rug until he has his own at which time the rug will be shipped off to Bush for use at his presidential museum, as is customary of all Presidents.”
Some of the comments on this blog are very 0 based but in between there are reasonable comments especially regarding Laura’s design taste.
I am sure the personal loans of pictures and items have either been returned to their owners or will be loaned to G W Bush Presidential museum where hopefully the rug that Laura designed for W will eventually end up.
My pleasure
I have always loved photos of GWB with the military he has often said that he enjoyed his role of Commander in Chief of the services the most of all his official roles and duties.
I also believe in turn the military personnel loved and respected him and also Dick Cheney many remembering or if not them friends and relatives remembering him from his time as Defense Secretary.
He was well respected and loved by the military IMHO and that salute says it all.
I believe in a recent interview GWB was actually asked if ever did go into the Oval Office without a tie and jacket and his answer was along the lines that it probably did not wear both 100 per cent of the time. IMHO I would suspect it would have been late at night or the occasional weekend and just a quick pop in and out and certainly not a photo or film clip available.
Great that phancy (Megan) was there I miss her she was fun I have some lovely photos she took of the White House gardens.
Indeed it is
Moving boxes in his new home in Mclean VA
I have especially missed Tony Snow during this past week. I miss his wisdom and the way he could calm our collective nerves. (sniff, sniff)
Indeed with the ever faithful Laura ready to support him in private
Thanks.
Dad is starting to settle in today will be the first time I have left him alone when I go shopping, I hope he is not too upset but he has to get used to this as I go back to work on Monday.
I watched the inauguration as well as you say it was a part of history and for that alone I felt I had to watch it. Not only but it was the last few minutes of the Bush Presidency which as meant so much to us all.
Whoops I meant correction to first photo in post 37
Not yet I will be doing those in the next few days and will post them lots of probably 10 or 15. I will put them on this thread.
