TMZ has confirmed Bahamian police indeed are investigating an alleged extortion plot against John Travolta, but it does not involve pictures of his dying son.
We're told several people allegedly have demanded $20 million from John and cops are on the hunt. We now have confirmed that the alleged extortion attempt does not involve pictures of Jett as he was dying. As for what the extortion attempt is about....no one will say.
UPDATE: We've confirmed the alleged extortion is over the circumstances surrounding Jett's death, but we have no more specifics. And, we've learned, it was Travolta's reps who contacted cops and lodged the complaint.

The Church of Scientology tries everything it can to avoid being forced into a courtroom, I’ve seen the lengths they’ll go to in the past.
It will be interesting to watch this play out, if its done in the public glare, which I doubt, but you never know.

one thing we know the police and the Travoltas disagreed on was the time line.. police saying Jett wasn’t seen for 10 hours.. Travolta’s lawyers saying that was not true...

I don’t have time to find the link but I read a story somewhere that the Travoltas didn’t want this story public and a newspaper (Tribune???) broke the story.
It is hard to guess what is taking place here. It could be a number of different things.
If it is false information that is threatened to be leaked all the Travoltas need to do is deny it and do what Scientologists love to do...SUE SUE SUE
If it is true information...they have a different problem.
The Bahamas are a pretty crooked place.
