In golf, they call it a mulligan. A do-over.
There's no formal name for what President Obama and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. did last night.
After flubbing his one role on Inauguration Day -- administering the oath of office to Obama -- Roberts traveled to the White House to re-administer the oath.
Just to make sure.
"We decided it was so much fun . . .," Obama joked while sitting on a couch in the Map Room. Obama stood and walked over to make small talk with pool reporters as Roberts donned his black robe.
"Are you ready to take the oath?" Roberts asked.
"I am, and we're going to do it very slowly," Obama replied.
After a flawless recitation that included no Bible and took 25 seconds, Roberts smiled and said, "Congratulations, again."

Obama jumped in too fast on the first line at :40. Then Roberts put faithfully in wrong spot starting at :47. Then Obama mumbles And will to...best at 1:00 instead of And will to THE best.
Thats 3 mistakes. Picky, sure, but since Obamas flubbing of the oath is only being blamed on Roberts by the MSM and DUmmies, I thought actually listening to it and deciding for ourselves might be a better idea.
A third time today could be perfect.
Why a third time?
So the whole Bible thing was just for show, as I suspected.
And it was invalid because they flubbed it, so when they did it again the right way, no Bible.
That tells me everything I need to know.
No Bible
Outside of tradition there is no requirement for a Bible. In fact he could have had the sworn statement typed and signed it with witnesses and it would have been just as valid, imo.
Even the dumbest new recruit in the military gets only one change at his oath.
This time he can place his left hand on Aunt Ester's cook book.
The real point would seem to be:
If Obama is a practicing Christian as he has claimed:
Why was no Bible available at his home?
Yes. Those two words, No Bible.
Now if only we can find out what the prayer times are in Washington DC, plus Bambi’s agenda, then we can put two and two together.
And if they get it wrong...they're still in.
Michelle had taken the family Bible to a meeting with military families...
s-a-r-c
Wait, if there was no Bible- then what did he “swear” on .... his own honor?
That’s a joke
“SO Help, ME”
Oh and also, if we can find out what’s regularly on the menu in the WH. You know, meat-wise.
How many opportunities does a Freeper get to spell 'chance'? ;)
Using is a Bible is tradition, not prescribed by the Constitution.
It’s not required for others taking Federal oaths (military, cabinet officials, civil servants, etc.)
Not like Obama would have a bible handy by his bedside or in his living room. Perhaps he had not yet unpacked his Koran.
Obamah through off the timing when he jumped in too soon, not letting Judge Roberts complete his first sentence.
