Is anyone still disappointed that McCain lost?
Vanity

Posted on 01/20/2009 11:30:11 AM PST by Chet 99

I know everyone is disgusted that Obama is president... but is anyone still disappointed that McCain lost?

It seems that it didn't take McCain very long to return to his old McCain-Feingold ways once the campaign was over.

I am generally not too conspiracy minded, but I am almost of the mind that McCain's job was simply to throw the election to Obama... If you can stomach it, rewatch those debates. If that was not a case of someone "taking a dive", I don't know what is.

McCain's job now will be to put the bipartisan smiley face on Obama's proposals. He will lead the charge to break filibusters. He will be put in charge of ushering amnesty through the senate. The Republicans will be blamed for the amnesty while the Democrats will get the millions of new voters and union members.

Imagine the harm McCain could have done as president. I hope the GOP's nominating process is fixed by 2012. It really failed us in '08.

I think we can now refer to the Senator from Arizona as

“Vote #60.”

I didn’t vote for McCain, I voted for Palin.

I’m pretty sickened at how quickly McCain has reverted back into the guy that he worked so hard to try to make us forget.

Good question. To be honest, after I read your post I realized I hadn’t thought about ‘my candidate’ having lost, as I have the relatively few times thats happened.

Same ‘nothing’ feeling I had with Bob Dole to be honest.

No. McCain digusts me. But I would have been glad if Obama was the losing guy.

Agreed. But would have loved to see Gov. Palin take the oath.

Yes I’m disappointed. I think McCain would have been better than Obama.

Didn’t say how MUCH better.

Your opinion reflects my continuing opinion that Obama did not win this race, at all. McCain, and the Repub party, lost this election. A horrid campaign, deliberate or not, the net result now places McCain next to Obama to assist with a “fillibuster-proof” socialist Congress — all in the spirit of McCain-Feingold and illegal amnesty.

It all really sucks.

I’m only disappointed that a true conservative didn’t run AND win.

I fear for the future of our once great republic!

Yes, because even if he only provided a 10% difference, that is 10% we don’t have now. That also would mean at least one branch our party would control, keeping from giving the dems a blank check. It would also mean Palin would be the President of the Senate, balancing that better. It would also have mean that we would have had a higher turn-out, thus, we may have had better results in both the House and the Senate.

Problem is, the GOP establishment likes the process as it now stands. Why? Because it all but eliminates the chance of a conservative winning the nomination. (The establishment is infested with RINOs). So change in that regard is highly unlikely.

Four years pass quickly. When President-elect Palin takes the oath we will be a free Republic again.

I will be wishing to high heaven it was anybody but Obama,
while I’m burying my guns in the yard, or waiting on line at the free clinic we are all required to go to because insurance is no longer available by my company.

I may not have the 4 years to get my constitutional rights back....

It was a coin toss between to hopeless losers. McLame would have sucked as well. His only bright spot would have been Sarah Palin.
