I wonder if anyone has made the point that he took the oath with the Lincoln Bible because unlike GW, or even Clinton, he didn’t have a family Bible. He came from a family of atheists.
Is that the same as crossing your fingers behind your back when making a promise?
One would think someone as ambitious as Obama would have committed the oath to memory. Come on, the man was a “constitutional law scholar.”
Believe me, Bill Clinton had it memorized.

It started off bad. Continued bad..and then Roberts messed it up trying to get obama back on track
I guess you would have to see the other oaths to see if there is a certain way to do the pauses, etc.

We just have our own personal Bibles, and mine was so tattered that I had to go buy a new one a few months ago.

Obama waited for Roberts to correct himself before proceeding.
There is enough to worry about with Obama without making stuff up. Who will listen to our most legitimate complaints about him in the future, if we get caught accusing him of screwing up when he, in fact, did not?
Lets not allow ODS to destroy our credibility.

Jeezus! Obama DID recite the Oath correctly. It was Roberts who screwed it up, and Obama was right not to proceed until Roberts corrected himself.
Obama did mess it up. roberts had to try to fix it when Obama couldn’t repeat after him..and then Roberts flubbed it up.
Watch the tape that I have already posted that will show exactly what happened. Obama couldn’t repeat after him and Roberts had to backtrack and that is where Roberts flubbed it up..because Obama couldn’t say the oath.
Obama DID have the oath memorized. That's why he recognized that Roberts got it wrong, and waited for him to correct himself before proceeding. (Watch it again, if you don't believe me.)
