Police: Retired NYPD officer drugged, raped woman

A retired NYPD officer raped a woman after drugging her at a Bronx bar and hauling her to a motel in Westchester, police said.

Greenburgh detectives charged ex-cop Jose Arroyo, 46, with the November rape and kidnapping of the 31-year-old woman.

Arroyo, who left the force in 2005, slipped a drug in the woman's drink while they chatted at Doyle's Pub in Throggs Neck, police said.

The article left out why this guy left the force. It would be interesting to know if it was because of more of the same behavior.

But a 31 year old woman at a bar surely was planning to go home with somebody. I’m not saying that absolves him of criminal behavior, it does not. It should not. But she shouldn’t feel as bad.

I find your statement to be very strange.
I simply cannot relate to it in any manner.
You should reflect long and hard on what you said.

Nothing can possible mitigate the shameful act described in this article. How can a human being sink so low as to pull such a stunt. I actually feel sorry for the sick bastard...to wind up as such a pitiful creature.

“Of course, she would have gave it up willingly, so she shouldn’t feel bad about being raped, am I correct?”

I guess in court, her willingness would have to be determined by things like what kind of clothes she wore. Perhaps her sexual history might be relevant, as well. /s

Diaz said he son literally slapped him to get to get him to go along ?!

“While Democrats were in the minority, there was no minimum funding amount and some Democrats on Monday recounted the Republicans’ refusal to provide pens and pencils and one Democrat said he had to tap into his pension to upgrade his office.”

Good. But now they want vengeance.

“Because I’m a a pastor, I say, let’s share, let’s be equal,” said Democratic Sen. Ruben Diaz of the Bronx, now with a powerful and lucrative committee chairmanship in the majority. Then he said with a laugh: “If I were not a pastor, I would say — suffer a little bit.”

Disgrace. I hope the stinking union won’t foot his legal bills. I’m not sure if they stick up for retired cops who commit crimes.

retired?.......retired at age 43?.......

if this guy gets convicted of this, I fully believe he has done it before.....

what to say about a man who has to resort to drugging someone to get sex...pathetic......and I just hope he gets a warm welcome among his fellow criminals...

That's the stupidest statement I have ever read on FR.

I think the police unions are a major problem just like most other unions. Their defense of cops who commit crimes is abhorrent. Disgraces to their badge should be shunned by fellow officers.

You must be stupid (and yes, the word fits in your case). So, a woman who is in a club and gets raped 'shouldn't feel as bad' because she was probably planning to go home with someone anyways.

Your level of stupidity knows no bounds, and that is not a personal attack. Just a statement of fact.

What’s with all the outrage? I said it was criminal and he should be punished. Geez.

“If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it ... whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat?” the sheik said in his sermon. “The uncovered meat is the problem. If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred.”

Oh yes, the tried and not so true, "she had it coming" defense. Too bad Obama's vision of a Islamic America has yet to take shape, because the woman is held responsible for rape in Muslim countries and she would be punished for this.
