Additionally, one should consider the number of current and former military who see things very clearly and know who they are and have been fighting for and who fights for and supports them and who doesn't.

I've always wondered what would happen if the PTB somehow crossed the specially trained and combat experienced American veterans and forced them to used what they've learned to defend the Republic and the Constitution against domestic enemies.

I agree. I’m wondering if Pelosi will slip something into the Stimulus package. She’s got total control of the markup and she’s trying to roll both caucasses on the deal.

It not only sounds coherent, it makes sense.

We’ve got to keep our eyes open on our own, because NRA figures that they can pick and choose and that’s how gun owner constituencies get screwed over.

this is what SWAT has been training for.

Now people with unserialized ammo will be deemed worse than drug dealers and hardcore criminals.

The 9th and 10th are meaningless and only appealed to when the feds want to duck an issue. Of course often that’s a good thing, me not being a being fan of federalism.

When conservatvies do it - media frenzy, media hysteria, world ending tomorrow, women and minorities hardest hit

When liberals do it - media orgy, media worship, world is a brand new wonderful place, we’ll never let conservatives touch it ever again

This is one of several reasons why they have enacted restrictions on firearms from former military personnel. You had stress problems in the military where you were on meds and/or talking with people about it, you may not be able to purchase a firearm.

A military aquaintance back from Iraq told he how they moved in on towns in Iraq and did the house to house searches for caches etc. He told me how certain areas would be targeted first. The operation would start out about 5 miles from a target, cutting off every road of egress.
They close in and clear each neighborhood systematically.
They force people to stay in their houses by blocking streets. They cut communications like phone, internet, even jamming cell phone frequencies to prevent people first in the perimeter from warning people deeper in of the looming invasion. There are many high tech, classified items used by the forces to detect weapons and ammo, and people. Infra red, satellite eyes in the sky, predator drones, listening devices, jamming equipment etc.
Surprise is the element of success.

Here in America..
Most people won’t have their weapons well hidden so entry by the force will confiscate weapons with ease.

A few will resist and be taken out as terrorists, militia, criminals or something easily explainable. A few will be well enough hidden to be passed by. But the clearing of a location by trained people will take 90 to 95% of the weapons available in the perimeter.
It takes a well co-ordinated operation to be successful. But only the military has the capability to do these kind of large scale operations, and at least for now this kind of operation will not come to pass. After passage of such a law there would be a deadliine to comply. some areas would be immediately cleared to scare people into compliance.

So IF a law is passed to turn in firearms a person would be well advised to cache their favorite arms and ammo off location. Keep the pea shooter and some ammo. If they have the firearms forms for guns you have legally purchased in the past and you don’t have them, they were pawned, or sold, or something prior to the law and there will be not much they can do. If they think you are lying, they will still have the capability to watch you via drone or satellite so lay low and don’t tip your hand. One can also plan on some kind of martial law while an area is being cleared.
Much to think about and now is the time to plan for the future. And keep your military friends close to you because most of them will be against any kind of infringement actions and their loyalty will not be exclusively with the top brass

“I agree a militia type action won’t work either.”

thats why the terrorists use cells of 5 or less people.
Nobody knows what they plan until the plan is executed.

“Over half of the population voted for Obama”

Wrong. 63 million voted for O. 57 million voted for Mac
Our country is 350 million. Assuming 30% are children, theres still over 100 million people who didn’t vote and we have no idea where their loyalties are. Nor does the government.

The violation of the 2nd amendment rights should they go down that road will probably start something none of us want. People will reach a breaking point where they will refuse anymore destruction of the Constitution, then they will begin to rebel.

I remember taking my BB gun to show and tell in the mid 60’s even after Kennedy was wacked. Kids going to school now of days have no idea how many freedoms they have lost in the last 50 years. This took place in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which was rated as one of the friendliest cities to live in back then.

Now I live in Metro Atlanta, Georgia where the daily death toll matches many war zones. Except for Kennesaw, Georgia, where residential gun ownership is the law, which keeps many criminals afraid of getting shot from intruding into this hood, Guns in the right hands save lives and do STOP STUPID CRIMINALS.

HAHA...

What I think is funny is that the guy that proposed the bill “Bobby Rush” would not be allowed to even posess a CHL in Oregon (where I live) because he is a convicted felon!!!

Only in America can a Black Panther/ Convicted Felon write new gun laws... WOW

I’m as skeptical as anyone about the liberals’ intentions, but did anyone bother to read this bill? It applies to the following:

`(i) any handgun; or
`(ii) any semiautomatic firearm that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device; and
`(B) does not include any antique.’.

I think it’s unconstitutional no matter what, but it is not applicable to all weapons. It applies to all handguns and any semi-auto that uses a clip. And it does not include antiques (clearly) as the article implied.

There are plenty of rifles and shotguns in this country that do not use clips, so why does everyone automatically assume it’s a grab for all guns?

Still reading. Section 301 seems to do away with private sales of any firearm (did he mean qualifying firearm?) unless it’s done thru a dealer to do a background check.

Interesting. I will certainly be writing to my congressman.
