Good, my Mom watched it just to see what the people were wearing, doesn’t care for any of the stars, I of course watched the Laker game :-) But I could hear from the other room the Obama love fest and some drunk fool from Tina Fey’s show ramble on and on about his love for Obama, sickening. Then I heard after wards some stars talking about how they all have to help Obama succeed, and I was like “Ok, so go ahead and open up your wallet then”

There were a few hits sprinkled throughout the nominations. I think “Mamma Mia” and “Benjamin Button” made money. However, it might have helped if they’d nominate one particular movie that people really enjoyed, namely “The Dark Night”.

I watched it for a while with some friends after the football game to give it the Mystery Science Theater 3000 treatment. After a short time it was way too easy to ridicule them.

Have never understood people’s desire to watch other people pat themselves on the back for hours on end.

I think the celebs have been spooked because — I'll give them this — they all looked stunning last night. In a lifetime of watching these shows, I have never seen the stars and would-be stars look so glamorous and put together across the board. For example, Drew Barrymore, who is a normal-looking person most of the time, morphed into a knockout for the evening. Other regular-types like Laura Dern and Laura Linney also were tastefully glammed up. Mickey Rourke did look freaky, but the rest of the men were clean-shaven and looked great in their dinner jackets. (Oh, yeah: Colin Farrell's hoop earrings were asinine, I admit.) Anyway, my real point is that it seemed to me that the folks in Hollywood know they are vulnerable, so they put aside self-indulgence, at least as long as it took to clean up and do what they're paid for: look like movie stars!

Awwwww, guess most of us aren’t really interested in overpaid idiots giving themselves unearned and undeserved pats on their backs and having obamagasms while doing so.

Didn’t even know it was going on. The TV was turned off after the football games were over.

Great. This is what I’ve been waiting to hear — was hoping 24 would blow it out of the water. No one even heard the political statements of those idiot hollywood people.

What are the golden globes for anyway? It looks like movies, but don’t the oscars cover that? Is golden globes just a “me too” award? And I think the emmies are for tv...right?

My wife watches this show, and it baffles me why she does. She listens to the crap they spew, and doesn’t think about it critically. She doesn’t agree with them, but it doesn’t bother her to hear it either. I won’t watch it.

My guess is that a good many people who voted against Obama are sick and tired of the Hollyweird set. I’ve found ways to cut my support of Hollywood by 75 to 90%. I still want to be aware of what the cultural impact of Hollywood is, so I do try to catch a lot of movies. I do think paying $5 bucks for DVDs is probably about the best I can do to reduce my support for this sordid industry.

These award shows are absolutely disgusting. Watching the public fawn over these miscreants, and watching the actors’ behavior to boot, repulses me incredibly.

It was worth it to see “Milk” and “Frost/Nixon” shut out by “Slumdog Millionaire” and Mickey Rourke. It was also fun watching Brad and Angelina getting passed over on both the Golden Globes and Critics Choice awards.

I watched the 2-hour '24' and was somewhat disappointed.

For a minute, I thought was watching Ugly Betty till I realized it wasn't Ugly Betty, but an Ugly Betty lookalike.

Golden Globes deliver second-worst ratings since '95

Maybe it was their !%#@* language.

These people give trash a bad name. WHY does the MSM act like Holly-weirders are the cultural elite?

All these awards (Oscars, Golden Globe, Emmys) have jumped the shark when they became vehicles for spewing anti-American demagogery. How long will it take for hollywood celebrities to realize that people will real lives and real challenges trying to make this a great country could care absolutely zero about their points of views.

It is sad though to see a once great tradition fall so low (like the Nobel Peace Prize when the awarded it to Yasser the terrorist)

I couldn’t get over the constant references making light of cocaine addiction as if it were a badge of honour. Clint Eastwood sure looked uncomfortable amongst all those freaks.... Masturbatory socialist hollywood types ensuring equitable distribution of backslapping to thier more drug addled brethren. The guy who won best supporting actor died of a drug overdose and Mickey Rourke is an alcoholic cokehead. Clint only ever drank beer, he’s too good a role model...dare not give him any more awards. It was a veritable throng of drug addicted hollywood actors both dead and alive.

Which is the big reason the Follyweird trash America, prop 8 and anything America.

These awards have little impact here in the USA.

So anti America, pro Gay and anti conservatism remarks are aimed at the Eurotrash nations and the second and third world nations.
