His exit won't be soon enough.

For some,I'm sure that is true.

However I appreciate what this man has done to keep this country safe since 9-11.

Just because that memory of that day faded for some, the threat never did, and this President understood that through all the criticism.

I will miss him too. Even though I do not relish seeing Obama become Pres., that day I will watch only to accompany President Bush until he comes home to Texas. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.

W should have listed the attempted attacks that have been foiled on his watch since 9/11. The MSM can replay his parting message when we get hit again, courtesy of these morons.

That will never happen because the MSM will never run anything that might cast obamessiah in a negative light. Instead, they'll run clips of The One and his lemmings on the campaign trail saying that we should have finished the job in Afghanistan...

Good point!

I’ll probably need something a bit stronger - my son’s ship deploys next week...

God bless you and your son. Please thank him on my behalf for his service.

God Bless and keep your son. A heartfelt Thank you to your family for their service.
The only time in the past 8 years I had trouble sleeping was when our son was in Iraq.

LOL Well I for one will miss him. He's real.

What struck me most about his press conference is how serious he became during the question regarding “what is the greatest threat to the nation?” Deadly serious. The answer, of course, was an attack on the homeland. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

...I agree. I differ on many issues with his administration, but I like the man...

...BTW, there is a picture on FR, don’t know if it’s authentic, of Bush giving the finger...

Well said!

I just wish he had defended himself and his policies like this during his administration.

God bless you and keep you, President Bush.

Bush has seemed much more relaxed the past week or so.

He’s doing a great job of answering some his critics.

“Yep. If GWB hadn’t fiddle-f*****d away the last few years, we wouldn’t have an Obama presidency”

The MSM, Democrats and many Republicans diddled while Pres. Bush fiddled. The diddling has harmed our country (made us less secure and prosperous) than the fiddling and is a far greater travesty.

Yes, tears. However, his friends who have stood beside him the whole time, will be with him with love and compassion.

They deserve to be out of the nest of hornets in Washington.

People can say a lot of things about President Bush but one thing they can never say is he is classless. President Bush is a prime example of Class!

WELCOME HOME!

He is defending himself, finally. I love the part when a reporter asked about Katrina and he said if he had landed Air Force One in New Orleans, as some criticized him for not doing, he would have been criticized for taking people away from their work. He can’t win but he should have had people answering the critics all along!

THANKS! I’ll be okay..... we’ve been through this before during the 04 tsunami among other less memorable but long deployments - he’s a USNA 01 grad - now with a wonderful wife & young son.... I will miss him because I know his wife & baby will now too if that makes sense...

I agree with you Kristinn,

I would love to see all the sad “hate Bush” people set up a new thread for themselves so we can have a nice thread and wish President Bush a fond good bye.

I am so not looking “forward” to this next 4 years...
