Thanks so much for these extraordinary pictures.

I watched this live (on C-Span - - - no talking heads). When the sailors started running up the stairs to board their new home I got pretty emotional, even tearing up.

It was at this moment that I realized our brave men and women deserve a CIC with the soul of both Bush 41 and 43.

And come January 20th, they will no longer have that.

I had to finally acknowledge that the CIC torch has been passed to someone who does not, cannot, appreciate the awesome responsibility and gift he has been given.

daisyscarlett, thank you for the Ping. I will so miss these threads. It has truly been an “Island of Sanity”. Thank you and all the others who have spent so much time and effort to put these on daily for the rest of us.

Thank you daisy for a wonderful dose which looks as if it will cover the last visit by GWB at least by plane. What an honour for those who traveled on AF1 for the last time with GWB.

I will miss these photos and this man who along with the Vice President has given me hope that people in public life can really even in the 21st century serve the people not themselves.
