BARACK IN LIMBO
Humanevents.com ^ | 1/5/2009 | Michael Reagan

As he stands on the sidelines, seemingly oblivious to what's going on in the world, President-elect Barack Obama opts out of the game by proclaiming that there's only one president at a time.

That's another way of saying, "Let George do it," when the Middle East erupts in violence, the economy continues to slump, and the governor of his state defies demands that he step down.

His almost nonchalant approach to the turmoil around him has thus far protected him from adverse reactions from his real base -- the media -- but that immunity from harsh criticism has not extended to his political base, the far left. They are after him hammer and tongs.

Yep, he's been quiet on Gaza, but he held a presser today on his stimulus plan.

He, like everyone else in the world (spoken or unspoken) wants Israel to destroy Hamas in one decisive blow. If/when they do so, commenting on the situation will be much easier.

I hope the country withstands it.

His honeymoon will more quickly resemble a marriage on the brink of divorce rather than a joyous romp at trip OVER Niagara Falls.

There, all fixed.

(He will soon learn that terror strikes and economic calamities are not subject to reversal merely by hinting at the prospect of racism...)

Cheers!

I think the best advice for Obama is keep your friend close and your enemies closer. There’s no doubt that there are more Liberal Dems envious of Barak’s “star power” than there are Republicans.

So if you have to pray for the country say a quick prayer for Obama, because he’ll find keeping us closer is a good.

I don't envy anyone who takes the job of POTUS. Campaigns are fun. You get to talk to a lot of people.

Obama has a big imagination, and his vision of the world is (naively) gigantic. But the world of the White House is tiny. Read Haldeman's diaries or other inside accounts to discover just how stifling and claustrophobic it is. Obama wears his trademark relaxed smile now. By 2012 he will be all gray and look like he went 8 rounds with La Hoya, beaten down by the job.

Pray for his repentance, and that God will incline Obama's heart to what is best for the country.

Cheers!

At some point Obama will wet his pants. Of course, the media will spin it that he’s walking on water.

The man scares me. I pray for America.

It is tragic for America that the dolts and fools that voted for Hussein did not have the mental capacity and IQ that would have helped them be afraid too, before they voted for this charlatan.

He can stay on the sidelines regarding Israel and HAMAS for now and I won’t condemn him for it. If he interfered, we would condemn him for that too and, as I see it, the less he says on the matter, the better. Silence is tacit support. The truth of the matter will be revealed come January 21st or shortly thereafter.

“America is bigger than the president.”

America is more centralized than EVER before. Because we have moved in this direction and Washington does have more influence than ever before he will have a great degree of power. From education to health care, from parks, abortion, and what defines a family or marriage, the federal government in the last 50 years because it has expanded in it's scope and depth has more influence in your life. They already dictate down to a level where they tell you what light bulb you will use!

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/12/20071219-6.html

I don't know if America is bigger than he is. Usually I would say yes, because the bureaucracy and checks and balances in place would sort of resist change and reduce wacky or radical moves. The limits of power to the Federal government would contain the stupidity. But who is there? Most states have Democrat governors! The House and Senate is in Democrat hands. The SCOTUS is divided. The Federal government has more power than ever before at the States expense. He's not even president yet and he's already advocating the largest expanse of Federal manpower non-defense related in our history. I think Obama will attempt to be “perceived” as being centrist, at least in the beginning. However, pressure to deliver from those that backed him, his own idiology, many in his former Senatorial ranks that share his far left sentiments will eventually cause the true Obama to surface and little stand in their way.

"You have to manage conflicts within your own staff and Administration. I certainly hope Obama is up for it. "

Then The Hood still has to do about five days of worship rituals.

My lefty parents can’t stop talking about Obama (knowing that I escaped the plantation and am a black conservative Republican), and all of the arguments that they put forth in favor of him are the exact same arguments that they would have shot down in a HEARTBEAT were they applied to the current President (or any other Republican president).

It is - if such a dichotomy is possible - infuriatingly hillarious.

.....You have to manage conflicts within your own staff and Administration. I certainly hope Obama is up for it.

Why would you hope Oboomba is up for it? I hope he fails miserably from day one along with the other Clinton leftovers he has brought into his administration. The only way America will ever recant & turn back its' experimentation with marxist-socialism as well as throwing Oboomba out of office in 2012, is to experience first hand the devastating effects of socialism -- massive economic failure, govt ineptitude, mindless bureaucracies, massive corruption and inefficiencies at every level.

Anything less than massive failure at every level will be covered & glossed over by the fawning drive-by-media, hoping to score another one for Oboomba in 2012.

I still have trouble praying for Obama. Instead I pray for my country.

I don't even quite do that. I pray for God's Will to be done in our country.

This is a prayer from the Presidential Prayer Team website (http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org/site/PageServer?pagename=77days_dayx
77 Days of Prayer for Our New President:

“For citizens to be faithful in interceding for all leaders of the new administration

‘I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.’
—I Timothy 2:1-2

“Glorious God, You are awesome and mighty, lifting up those who You desire to lift up and putting down those You desire to put down. You love it when Your people come to You with longing for righteousness and godliness. You love it when Your people come to You in prayer.

“Lord, we do that now on behalf of all the leaders in the new presidential administration. Regardless of their leanings or alliances, Lord help us to put our political agendas aside to pray fervently for all those in authority, knowing that You have placed them there. They were chosen by You to lead for such as time as this, and they are worthy of our intercessions. Enable us, O precious God, to be faithful in our calling to pray. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”

Hope this helps. We’re actually doing it for ourselves so that “we may live peaceful and quiet lives.” (I always include a request to change my heart so that I would WANT to pray for Obama.)
