President-elect Barack Obama has selected Leon E. Panetta, the former congressman and White House chief of staff, to take over the Central Intelligence Agency, an organization that Mr. Obama criticized during the campaign for using interrogation methods he decried as torture, Democratic officials said Monday.
Mr. Panetta has a reputation in Washington as a competent manager with strong background in budget issues, but has little hands-on intelligence experience. If confirmed by the Senate, he will take control of the agency most directly responsible for hunting senior Al Qaeda leaders around the globe, but one that has been buffeted since the Sept. 11 attacks by leadership changes and morale problems.

The Dem party genepool has essentially evolved into a Clinton organism so this isn’t really a surprise to those who saw this pea and shell game for what it was... a game, bait and switch, where one side set the rules and the other side was too timid to raise heck over it... and the media was silent and complicit.
They have their friends across the aisle to thank for their “successes” to date.
You got that right. Obama is showing his total lack of leadership and what a glib piece of crap he is. Wonder what the 2/3 of Americans think of their super hero now? Wait until the rest of the trash is appointed. I will take hundreds of years, if we are still a Country, to recover what damage these sick lame nitwits will do to America.
0bama is simply paying political favors in exchange for national security.
Panetta has not a single shred of previous experience that would make him a good candidate for this position. His most most recent prediction was belonging to an anti-war group predicting defeat in Iraq, which was colossallly wrong.
This is an obscenity — this is not the time to stick some political hack in to be DCI.....
Rumor is that Obambi could not get any intel professional interested in the job, b/c who would want to be in that position during an Obambi admin. and have to deal with all of the Democrat b.s. and lack of support, etc.???

And the China Envoy was the same as an ambassadorship, which the US did not have in China at the time.

What a dumb, stupid, ignorant choice to lead the CIA. It’s just amazing how Obama’s ‘change’ is carrying on version #3 of the Clinton Administration.

Fear exacts a terrible toll on our democracy. Five years ago, America went to war in Iraq over the false fear that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.
Even though we now know that there were intelligence officials who questioned the assertion, few leaders were willing to challenge this argument for war because they knew it might undermine public support for the president’s decision to invade Iraq.
More recently, President Bush vetoed a law that would require the CIA and all the intelligence services to abide by the same rules on torture as contained in the U.S. Army Field Manual.

It is likely that a new president will be tested early. The fact is we will never know what a president is really like until he or she has to confront the crises and pressures of the modern presidency. But one thing we should know before a candidate becomes president is whether he or she will govern by fear or by hope. America does not have to be afraid of its future.

The CIA does nothing to fight CAIR and other Saudi funded/US based Shariah promoting organizations.
And his defense of Saddam and Sons....not having WMD is despicable, being that he was in the Clinton Admin while they threatened Saddam daily. And he is old enough to remember Saddam's use of WMD....and Israeli's destruction of Saddam's nuke fascility.
Should have appointed Joclyn Elders instead...at least she know all about "safe" screwing of the country.
