Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin says both her 18-year-old daughter Bristol, who gave birth to son Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston on Saturday, and fiance Levi Johnston are working hard to balance schoolwork with their new parental obligations, People Magazine reported.
"You need to know that both Levi and Bristol are working their butts off to parent and going to school and working at the same time," the Alaska governor told the magazine in a phone message. "They are certainly not high school dropouts."
Any suggestion to the contrary "harms Bristol's reputation and Levi's reputation and their chances for good work opportunities," Pail said.

I’m not a “pinhead brigade” but a 50 year old Christian homemaker, and I DO think she could have used a better, nicer phrase than that. And I also think it’s terrible these two kids are STILL not married. These are not the actions of true Christian conservatives.

Look ,these stories diminish Sarah. If she didn’t say this she needs to defend herself. If she did she needs to clean up her act. These kinds of stories are intended to make her look like white trash and they are working. I would love to see her in a national office....BUT [:^)] this stuff matters. The best way to make them leave her kids alone are to stop responding to the media. Give a public statement and move on.

Our economy is tanking, we have a Marxist of questionable origins about to take the highest office in the land, India and Pakistan are rattling sabres at each other, Israel and Hamas are at it (go Israel!) and people are on here fussing about someone saying the word "butt."

I love Sarah, sadly, if she cannot shake this type of article it won’t matter what we think. we need a viable candidate that can win, with conservative bonafides. while we all might like to think Obama will tank, he may not. I fear for us.

She, and my grandmother would have supplied me with a more appropriate word.

No one is bent out of shape over the word butt, we are bent out of shape that it is in a headline with our lovely Sarah. It diminishes her and reeks of “white trash”. The reporter only called her to get that white trash story to begin with. Either she fell for it, or it’s a lie. Either way, this is hurting her chances of a national political career. THAT’s what we care about.
..but if we, as a society, lose the genteel courtesy of kind and appropriate words, we are losing on another kind of front.

The phrase, "their butts", wouldn't be surprising out of his yap, but perhaps folks in major league politics would be advised to drop the the term in favor of, perhaps, "their fannies"......LOL
