Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin says both her 18-year-old daughter Bristol, who gave birth to son Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston on Saturday, and fiance Levi Johnston are working hard to balance schoolwork with their new parental obligations, People Magazine reported.
"You need to know that both Levi and Bristol are working their butts off to parent and going to school and working at the same time," the Alaska governor told the magazine in a phone message. "They are certainly not high school dropouts."
Any suggestion to the contrary "harms Bristol's reputation and Levi's reputation and their chances for good work opportunities," Pail said.

seems with all the stuff going on in their lives, a momentous decision like that should get some thought and perspective.
she stated an opinion as to a quote supposedly from Sarah. she was not crude to you, yet you came back with a childish and crude comment.

It’s not a crude term and I am a Church going Lady who happens to be in the medical field. You all need to get a life if all you can do all day is complain about silly little terms.
Are these two young new parents crazy? Being unwed and having a new baby they could be on all kinds of government programs - WIC coupons, wellness programs, free health, etc., etc., etc. Why should they work their butts off? Don’t they know the Liberal programs will give them everything they need? Geez, thousands of other new young parents out there have figured out that system.....
As a social conservative, I would note that live birth and abortion were not Bristol Palin’s only options. There was also not getting pregnant in the first place and maybe even... keeping her legs together until she got married. If many on even the Right no longer consider out-of-wedlock pregnancy and birth shameful, then marriage is purely optional, and talking about respect for the institution becomes farcical.
My mama would have washed my mouth out if I went around saying 'butt'...
Having said that, I know our young folks are saying it....it's all over TV and the movies...
...it's 'acceptable'....in today's society....

I love Sarah Palin....in the context of the phone interview, they might have upset her, and I can see her as a mother,....or any mother, resorting to telling insulting reporter 'I'll have you know my daughter is working her 'you know what' off to stay afloat.....a mom will come to the defense of her child!

It sounded and was a playground comeback to a lady who stated her opinion. A valid one, I might add.
Being a Sarah supporter, I hate to see her say these things. To pretend otherwise is silly. She is diminishing herself. Now if she never said it, she needs to defend herself.
I am a church going lady in the medical field as well...get over yourself. I have a fine life, thank you.
One can only wish that Sarah would understand these people are only calling her to set her up. I pray she gets the message and can remain a viable candidate for the future of our country. Sadly, this kind of news story diminishes her.
