Some freepers have been googling Roland Burris and asking about this little tidbit. Yes, this is his tomb. Yes, he is still alive. Our Junior Senator designate Roland Burris has had a mausoleum already built dedicated to himself, with space available to fill in future "accomplishments"
Maybe this is Blago's way of appealing to one of the most important RAT constituencies: the cemetery votes.

That’s planning ahead. I like it.
To: BillyBoy
He must have paid for that before he realized wikipedia could post all his accomplishments for free.

Looks like he's a survivalist. He's even got a bug out plan for death!
Seriously, though, that ain't half as grand as some of our "burial chambers" in south Louisiana. :)
To: BillyBoy
I hope his plane doesn’t crash over the middle of Lake Michigan and all his prep will be for naught

Haha Great design. The bereaved can sit and ponder how much dough he spent for that monument while sheltered from the rain.
What a guy. :)

The guy is a whack job, like everyone else that has crawled out of Obammy’s circle.

Maybe Roland can pose in front of his own tomb for photo ops before he leaves for D.C. ;-)

reading that glorified tombstone he built for himself tells me all I need to know about the man.

Our Founding Fathers had to make do with simple headstones. Thomas Jefferson’s simply states that he wrote the Declaration of Independence and founded the University of Virginia. There is no mention of his being the third President of the United states or the first Secretary of State, or that he founded the Library of Congress.
Perhaps Mr Burris is worried that when the time comes for a monument to be raised to him, people may not think that he deserves one.
To: BillyBoy
Maybe he thinks he is a Pharoh.

His monument to himself will pale in comparison to what he will do with the taxpayers money.

He may have
undertakers funeral directors in his family.
It was one profession Blacks couldn't be locked out of and sooner or later you meet everybody in that line of work, so some prominent African-American political families (the Fords of Tennesee, for example) have a funeral home somewhere in the family.
It's the same way with other ethnic groups involved in urban politics.
