breaking on CNN TV
the students then hoisted a Palestinian flag
More info when available, please!
CNN reported during the 3 pm EST hour that about 40 Iranian students occupied part of the British embassy compound and flew the Palestinian flag. They also reported that the situation is now over.
Wonder if BBC channel 4 will allow Adimishit free air time to explain this perfectly rational action.
This is Day one of the ongoing British Embassy Hostage crisis.............
“According to the report, the demonstrators replaced the embassy flag with a flag of Palestine as an act of protest, but were dispersed by the security forces shortly afterwards.”
Incident is already over.
CNN had a “breaking news” story said that hardline students stormed the embassey
Holy Shiite!
Time to test some Trident missles I think!
Oh Oh.
Situation seems to be over? Hope so. The Brits should withdraw their embassy. So much for diplomacy...
It’s moot since the whole thing is over, but...
Since this is a BRITISH embassy in IRAN, why would the US want to launch anything?
They left when they found out that Jimmy Carter wasn’t Prime Minister.
“Incident is already over.”
I wonder if they are aware of what happened the last time someone tried to take an embassy from Britain (Iranian Embassy in London). How long did it take 22SAS to take it back? Not long, and with extreme prejudice.
well you guys seems to have more info then CNN..looks like no huge deal..Mods remove from breaking news
Tehran Incident
Tuesday,Dec. 30 2008
This from the UK Foreign Office, regarding an incident this evening in which Iranian demonstrators entered the British Embassy's residential compound in North Tehran.
"A group of demonstrators has trespassed onto the British compound in the North of Tehran. We are in touch with Iranian authorities. All staff are safe and accounted for."
Hostages again?
They’re just following in their fearless leader’s footsteps.
It never made sense to me that Carter did not go to Capitol Hill and ask Congress for declaration of war.
Even if they had said no, then at least he would have done his job.
