It’s probably for the best that Sarah Palin failed to become US vice-president, because if she had, the implosion among various snooty political classes, conservative and Left, would have been measurable from Venus. The world can only tolerate so much turmoil in one year.
Everyone always talks about the need for grassroots reform and politicians with real-world experience, then along came a real-world politician from the grass (well, snow) roots of Alaska, and the commentariat ridiculed her.

As for the snooty elites, the only ones looking down on her were the trashy Hollywood people with worse reputations and effeminate Kennedy family.

She had too much baggage at the top of the ticket ...
She’s the only politician that has made me have naughty thoughts.....
I bet she could kick Caroline Kennedy’s butt!..............
And to think that there are idiots out there comparing Sarah to C. Kennedy. Sheesh. Not only does Caroline look like an elderly horse, she’s also got the speaking skills of perhaps a seventh-grader.
A few years back, Sen Mary Landrieu inspired some naughty thought too.
I was willing to temporarily set aside her less than esteemed Senate career in favor of those naughty thoughts.

She was cute, but nothing like Sarah IMHO...I mean, Sarah’s like....DAMMMMNNNNNNNNN. :)
She was actually squeaky clean. It is always possible to make false accusations. Groundless ones seem to work; and many of the politicians that have blatant misconduct seem to have it roll off their backs with little or no press regarding said corruption.
We are a gullible lot.

McCain was too much for even Palin to rescue ... although she tried.
Sarah is the only thing which kept this election from being something like a 60%-40% blowout.
She spent a lot of time in southwest Pennsylvania and was the main reason our swing county went 58% for McCain.
McCain didn't even show up here-- every volunteer I talked to or worked with here in Westmoreland County was there because of Sarah.
This is NOT a Republican county. Mondale carried it during the Reagan landslide of 1984. Registered Democrats are over 60% of the voter rolls here. No Republican has ever been elected to the state house of representatives from our district since it was created in 1969 until this year.
This county is heavily Catholic, blue collar and union, more urban than rural and we saw everyone campaign here this year except McCain-- Obama, Biden, Hillary and Sarah. And guess who beat them all?
See, what happens? We get a female vice-presidential candidate and all of a sudden she replaces Ann Coulter as the official FR Pervs favorite gal!;)

On this we absolutely agree. If Johnny Mac had picked an also ran like Ridge or Lieberman, we’d have seen a historic wipeout.
