At long last, the glove has come off. After 20-odd years of training exercises, drill parades, dawn reccys, evening fly-bys and, let's not forget, the occasional kamikaze mission, my boys are finally due for live action. Morale runs at an all-time high, fructose rations are doubled, rumour circulates like wildfire: the next scramble will be for real, offering a chance for heroism and great honour in triumph against all odds; or, more likely, a death for once blessed with dignity, at rest beside millions of comrades fallen similarly in the line of duty, glory in their minds, joy in their hearts.

Not sure? While trying to determine such ‘fitness’ don’t breed.
Nor pander to those who pander to children to get THEM to breed.
/Klanned Parenthood rant off.
This thread is worthless with pictures.
DemoLiberal CommuSocialism is a cult, and ideology, of self extermination.
He looks like he is keeping a stiff upper lip about his points.
Rule 1: If you read the Guardian seriously (as opposed to trying to read it to expose its flaws or for comic relief), you are not fit to breed.
Corollary 1: Everyone who writes and edits the Guardian is covered by rule #1.
What does he want? A medal? A PALM leaf cluster?...........
*groan* :)
Hey, it was a shot in the dark!.........
Are you fit to write? Answer to both questions: No.
If you’re asking the question, the answer is “no.”
Plus, you’re ugly. [Not you, Tom, the author of the article is ugly. I’m sure you, Tom, belong in FR Hunk of Fame.]
"I would never trust any person or group who would dictate who could have children."
And anyone who spends so much time analyzing, worrying, and freeting about the matter needs to sterilize himself and spend his spare time on much more productive matters, like contemplating his navel instead.

I attended a very elite private university and, unfortunately, this moron's attitude infected many, many of my fellow students. Having children is a HUGE deal. It deletes disposable income, ruins a woman's figure, gets in the way of free time, etc.
I remember a very nice, traditional girl I met in college. Perfect next-door type, from a conservative family in Southern California. All the nice boys wanted to date her. She dressed conservatively and traditionally -- you know the type -- cardigan cashmere sweaters, pearls, etc.
After four years of liberal education, plus journalism graduate school, she became a fire-breathing liberal. She's now 52 years old, never married, looks like a wrinkled mess, and has an empty life. Saw her at reunions; she was never "ready" for a marriage commitment, and she was terrified of having children because of what "she would do to them." She is one unhappy lady 30 years later.

His anticipation is way too high, I’ll bet you his delivery system will fall down on the job halfway through and his troops will retreat back in search of the command tent.
On another note ... I have always loved the verse of the national anthem that you have on your site. All my three kids know those lyrics, and have sung them with me.
Another family favorite is verse three of America the Beautiful. Equally significant concepts, and equally moving in my view.
O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife. Who more than self their country loved And mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine Till all success be nobleness And every gain divine!
I can’t say that it makes me sad that liberals have a tendency to not have children. I hope they go the in the same way the shakers did.
Ahhhh, the Shakers, the last liberals who had a modicum of respectability. They followed their utopian philosophy into extinction.
