Chinese divers won a record seven gold medals during the 2008 Olympics. But even they didn't dive as headlong into the Beijing tank as did NBC. That's how you might describe the collective verdict of the Fox News Watch panel this evening on NBC's regime-friendly coverage. The subject arose as part of the show's Year in Review, and began with a clip of Matt Lauer unctuously questioning a ChiCom official:
MATT LAUER: There's a recent poll that said some very high percentage of the people in China are happy with their lot in life. Something around 80%. You compare that with the polls in the United States that say only about 25% of Americans are. What's the root of their happiness here?

NBC in ChiCom tank ping to Today show list.
Government-controlled/manipulated public opinion polls.
I watched all of 2 minutes of the opening ceremony coverage, and all 2 minutes was pro-commie chinese propaganda. couldn’t watch anymore.
Link didn’t work - I watched a fair amount of the Olympic coverage. Thought it was decent - you knew it was going to be pro-China (they were, for better or worse, the host) so if you didn’t want to hear it, turn it off.
Sorry about that. Here’s a good link to the original NewsBusters article:

Whereas Michael Phelps won how many by himself?
None in diving ;-)
I watched the opening and closing ceremonies and was mesmerized. The guy who designed these is a genius. I don’t care about the politics he’s stuck with.
I don’t love the NBC commentators but what were they supposed to do - insult and argue with the hosts?
Would you agree there’s a difference between being polite and sucking up as Lauer did with a question that managed to simultaneously put down the USA while praising China?
None. Think about it.
Or softball. Hillary coaching from the nappy dugout.
Money talks.
I suppose you could assume that the people in the US feel way more free to speak of their displeasure on various issues than the Chinese do - i.e. you'd better be happy or else.
Those media people are buried so deep in the left that they don't even know it. I saw Ann Curry vehemently attack Rick Warren because she accused him of being anti-gay - as if such a thing was against the 10 Commandments.
It's all disgusting but nevertheless I enjoyed watching the Olympics.
I usually enjoy watching them, but after the the communists and NBC started photoshopping the signal/video being shown to America, I stopped watching.
I generally don’t like events like opening ceremonies, half-time shows, etc. But the Olympic opening ceremonies were apparently such a work of genius that it makes me want to have a look. Not so much to enjoy them for themselves, but to marvel at the man’s ability.
It reminds me of watching some of the scenes in Lord of the Rings. I couldn’t really get into the movie, but sitting there in the theater was absolutely blown away by the technical achievement and the unimaginable amount of work that must have gone into creating it.
The root of their happiness is they don't have NBC cluttering up their tv's.
It definitely was stunning and well worth watching. As they said more than a couple of times - we won’t ever see this again. No one else in the foreseeable future will have the money that China was able to spend on this .....even if they were lucky enough to have a designer who is such a genius.
It was brilliant. My doctor went to these ceremonies - the lucky guy. But then, he was born in China so I suppose he had an in.
