A long-awaited sale of IndyMac Bank may be announced as early as today.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has been looking for a buyer, or buyers, for the Pasadena lender since the government declared it insolvent and seized it in July.
Final bids were due by Dec. 12, and the FDIC said it expected to close a deal by the end of the year. The American Banker newspaper reported Tuesday that the announcement could come today.

My former tagline was, "Schumer, with IndyMac,
precipitated the October surprise [that cost McCain the election]".
I wasn't surprised to hear Rush Limbaugh use that very premise in one monologue last week. Still, it took nearly six weeks for it to surface. :(

But yet here comes the PBS newhour last night with the worst lookin red headed female I've ever seen (my TV tubes are still tied!!!) bemoaning the naughty, NAUGHTY regulator that was the story on the other thread linked above and NO MENTION OF SCHUMER!!!
They stressed the fact that this ghastly regulator was the same one that made things much easier for Charles Keating of McCain's "Keating Five" scandal involving Lincoln Saving and Loan in the late 1980's that ripped off thousands of Senior's savings.
See? It's always Republicans causing the problems, NEVER Demicrats like yucky Schmucky Schumer who causes bank panics and runs on Banks like Jimmy Sturart's bank in "It's a Wonderful Life!!!"
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night on our holy night!!!
