I have closely researched the constitution and bylaws of the Republican State Committee, and nowhere do I find a provision for designating registered Republicans as RINOs (Republicans in name only). So who is it that has the authority to make such a designation?
The RINO designation is being bandied about by certain self-appointed Reagan Republicans as though they have the sole claim to be real Republicans. Was it not Ronald Reagan who popularized the phrase "the big tent," under which all Republicans to the left or right were welcome? Now we have this shrinking minority of so-called Reagan Republicans claiming that they have the authority to tag certain members of our party as RINOs.
I have been called a RINO because I do not always march in lock step with all that my party dictates. I am registered Republican, and I challenge anyone who does not like it to try to remove my party designation. They will have a fight on their hands that they will lose.

Is this guy so dumb he thinks RINO is an official political designation? Sounds like something a RINO would think.
Thanks.
What do you think of my idealogy litmus matrix idea? It’s not to get rid of RINOs, but to expose them.
I like it.
Why don’t you join me in helping to build it?
Nice analogy until someone comes along and tells you what you think ought to be rocks is rice - and vice-versa. I’m damn sick and tired of people tellimg me I’m not conservative because I don’t follow in lock step with one of those that thinks their rock is the only one that matters.
You might get a better spectrum if you asked rabscuttle385 to join you. That way you would have a different perspective from which to pull. It appears you and I think too closely the same.
“Was it not Ronald Reagan who popularized the phrase “the big tent,” under which all Republicans to the left or right were welcome?”
Definite RINO.
It doesn’t matter what a FReeper thinks. It’s just a list that they tell us what they think. That way we can tell who we’re dealing with.

Hah hah, thats great. I signed up 2 months after you and Im a newbie. Back then no one even said, Welcome to FR.
But yeah, I do think that there are tons of RINOs. To be more accurate, the term would be CINOs. Ive been pushing for an idealogical litmus matrix here on FR, not to get rid of RINOs but to expose them.
THE GOP DOESNT WANT US- SO WHATS NEXT?

***It simply takes too long. Look at this thread alone. I see evidence of RINOism in some of the FReepers on this thread. It takes 700 posts to drill down. We need the matrix posted and available so that we dont have to drill down on every FReeping thread. Theyre wasting our time. Deliberately.
Agreed to a large degree. Perhaps a way to rate members by other members???

“Republicans who are pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-gay marriage, and pro-illegal alien.”
Have you tried to find out what it is that makes these liberals think that they are Republicans?
One test of rocks vs. rice is whether or not you can get your tentmates to vote for such a ricey-dicey candidate.
Im damn sick and tired of people tellimg me Im not conservative because I dont follow in lock step with one of those that thinks their rock is the only one that matters.
***I’m sick and tired of RINOs worming their way up to positions of leadership and influence. Why don’t you post at GOP.com or some GOP affiliated website rather than one that openly attests that idealogy trumps party affiliation?
Thanks for proving my point.
No, I live in the 10th Congressional Dist. Rumsfeld was replaced by Phil Crane, of the 8th Dist. Crane was a conservative Republican who was in Congress, 1969-2005. He was defeated by Melissa Bean, a liberal Democrat.
Yes, I emailed Congressman Kirk, four times, within the past two years, and I asked why he’s a Republican. I didn’t receive a response, so I emailed four of his aides and asked them why he’s a Republican, although he’s more liberal than many Democrats. None of them responded.
As I’ve said elsewhere, I have no objection to RINO voters who get out and vote Republican.
But I do object to RINO politicians who are constantly being put forward by the RNC and the Country Clubbers when more conservative candidates could do better. I’m not talking about necessary RINOs from liberal states, like Collins and Snow. I’m talking about imposed RINOs in conservative states.
RINO voters, sure. Unnecessary RINO politicians, no thanks.
When they are all 'RINOs', the term ceases to have any meaning.
They are all just 'Republicans'.

And thanks for proving mine. Did you bother reading the first page of Free Republic when you signed on? Idealogy trumps party affiliation.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. .... We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity.
So winning even if every conservative principle is rejected is worth it to you?
The funny thing is, when Republic candidates are strong conservatives, they win. When they are RINOs, they lost a lot more often.
Funny about that.
