NEW HAVEN, CT - In an effort to recognize the diverse traditions of the holiday season, the City has installed a Festivus pole in the Market Street square. A dedication ceremony is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. With the addition of this new holiday centerpiece, the square is now thought to be the most diverse public display of late fall holiday symbols in the country...

Just mocking Christianity and Christmas - nothing more to see here.
Gotta devalue the celebration of the Creator of the Universe putting aside his glory to become incarnate in human form in order to save our sorry asses.

The square now boasts, along with the pole, a set of kinara Kwanzaa candles, an oversized bronze Menorah, a Ramadan prayer rug, a large World Aids Day ribbon, an Esperanto plaque commemorating Zamenhof Day, A Finnish Independence Day flag and an x-mas tree.Once again, everything but a Christian symbol.

Well, if festivus is going to become a national holiday I'm looking forward to the feats of strength when the population gets to get the president, congress and senate into a collective headlock and pin them to the floor. And then we can start airing our grievances on how they've let us down over the last year...of course doing so is going to take at least a year to complete the list.

Noticed in the article, the last display mentioned is an “x-mas” tree. No manger, no mention of Christ or Christmas.
I think I’d like to tell New Haven where they can put their Festivus pole.

...the diverse traditions of the holiday season...One must wonder what those diverse traditions are and exactly what holiday is referred to. Could it be, perchance, MLK's birthday, the 4th of July, New Year's Day, or surely not the birth of our Savior.
Diverse could mean perverse, as in homosexuals and their traditions handed down by satan.
New Haven, unfortunately, has slid into a sewer over the past 25 years and is today a valueless metro area.
For those poor souls who celebrate Christmas I would first of all not buy anything in New Haven and secondly I would plan to get the 'hell' out of that hole.

Galatians 6:7,8 - "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life."
