IIRC, Kenneth Caldeira had a guest OpEd column in the NY Times in which he proposed putting an aerosol of sulfate compounds into the atmosphere to halt "global warming." I posted it a year or two ago, but I can't find it.

A nonsensical, expensive solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Which Democrat came up with this?

What we need is an inter-dimensional matter bridge to siphon off excess heat from the Earth into a parallel universe.

Tinfoil!
If we really believed Global Warming was true and a problem, we could spew millions of flakes of really small tinfoil into orbit, deflecting sun rays.
Stupid idea (since GW is a fraud), but I’ve heard of scientists who believe it would work.

Ron Ace's idea to cool the planet by evaporating water could provoke controversy because it collides head-on with a concern of environmental scientists: that water vapor is a potent greenhouse gas.Shut down Congress for the next four years. Gas gone, problem solved.

I propose that we start a Bigfoot (Sasquatch) breeding program, they are so rare and near Extinction that a simple Government Program like the “Endangered Species Act” is not enough, a Trillion $ is probably not enough, but if we spend 900 Million now we may be able to save the Economy and the Planet. We can kick in another 7 or 8 Billion later along with very strict Gun Control Laws enacted later to make sure that this will work.
Save the Planet!

Condensation trails add to water vapor. The Global Warming crowd doesn't like that idea at
all, as limits on jet travel would affect the political class disproportionally, and doesn't give them money and power from everybody else.

I think they should run with the “Giant Mirrors” idea myself. Putting gas suppressing diapers on cows is another great idea, as well as powering cars with cow “emissions”.
But they had better hurry, MANBEARPIG says that the ice caps will be completely gone in just 5 years. I suggest they panic and begin voluntary euthanasia among those who believe this insanity. That would be the very BEST solution to this problem. Starting with ALGORE.

Congress must immediately implement new laws to reduce water vapor emissions and start a system of trading water vapor credits. Our planet is in peril!!! (sarcasm)
However with an EPA proposed rule to tax cow and pig farts taxing water vapor can't be too far off.

There is a simple way of testing this theory. We could flood a large portion of the earth’s surface with water (say 3/4’s of it), and then allow the sunlight to evaporate this water. If the result is catastrophic heating, the theory is proven correct. Oh, wait...........

What I find to be really funny about this is that they've finally discovered that water vapor is an Evil Greenhouse Gas. Those of us who've been making fun of the AGW crowd have been pointing out the lunacy of talking about the piddling effects of carbon dioxide when water vapor has more climate impact by several orders of magnitude.
