I believe she also plays the voice of the Enterprise computer in the new movie as well. I assume she had already recorded her material.

She was obnoxious as Lwaxana Troi in STNG, but her voice as the computer was iconic. She will be missed. RIP.

OH NO!!!!!!!! This is terrible! She was a FABULOUS actress! I really liked her role as Luwaxanna Troi in TNG! I haven’t seen much of TOS, so I haven’t seen much of her as Nurse Chapel (but she made a cameo in TMP as ‘Dr. Chapel’).
This is definitely tragic. My condolences to her family and to all the other Star Trek fans. May she R.I.P. She will be missed!

Just found out a couple of days ago, that IMDB is hosting free streams (w/commercials of course) of all the original series episodes on their site, with enough bandwidth that the viewing doesn’t go all choppy.

Loved the show. The first Hope and Change for the future. Very entertaining even if goofy at times. RIP

Majel also had an amazing one-shot guest appearance on the series Babylon 5 as a Centauri fortune teller/seer.

Nurse Chapel! I had no idea she was Rodenberry’s wife! Rest in Peace.

I had the good fortune to meet her and work with her when I ran a Trek convention back in 1992. A very nice person. So sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to her, and all who knew her.

Bummer. Our family enjoyed the Star Trek series. One of our weekly together times was watching the Saturday night episode on Sunday afternoon - once video recorders freed us from the dictates of CBS’ late night scheduling!
