ROGERS, Ark. – An Arkansas woman has given birth to her 18th child.

Michelle Duggar delivered the baby girl by Caesarean section Thursday at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. The baby, named Jordyn-Grace Makiya Duggar, weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long.

"The ultimate Christmas gift from God," said Jim Bob Duggar, the father of the 18 children. "She's just absolutely beautiful, like her mom and her sisters."

The Duggars now have 10 sons and eight daughters.

Jim Bob Duggar said Michelle started having contractions Wednesday night. She needed the C-section, her third, because the baby was transverse. Jim Bob said both baby and mother were doing well Thursday night.

"We both would love to have more," he said.

Jim Bob Duggar is 43, a year older than his wife. Their oldest child, Joshua, is 20.

The other Duggar children, in between Joshua and Jordyn-Grace, are Jana, 18; John-David, 18; Jill, 17; Jessa, 16; Jinger, 14; Joseph, 13; Josiah, 12; Joy-Anna, 11; Jeremiah, 9; Jedidiah, 9; Jason, 8; James, 7; Justin, 6; Jackson, 4; Johannah, 3; and Jennifer, 1.

"Our whole family is excited about Jordyn's addition to our family," Jim Bob Duggar said. "She's just perfect in every way."

I don't know how they do it, either. Not that I don't admire the Duggers and their organized family but I like to watch John and Kate plus 8 , more . It's reassuring that others have out of control kids at times and that Moms do lose it occasionally.:’)

18 kids? Yeah, heck that’s real healthy and smart there Jim.

I bet they just get oodles of individual attention, huh?

They're homeschooled. I bet they get more individual attention than most of the kids that live in my neighborhood - where both of their parents work & send them off to that cesspool known as "public school".

I saw that each are responsible for certain chores. I assume they rotate to learn different skills but right now two of the older girls do the laundry.

That’s amazing. My grandmother was one of 8 raised during the Depression, only 1 left. These families survived by sheer will.

When you got my gram and her siblings together they’d joke around about onion sandwiches for dinner and cabbage soup for breakfast. My great-gran was a Ukrainian immigrant that was widowed when she was pregnant with the 8th kid, otherwise I am sure there would have been more.

I think kids today get too much individual attention. They grow up in the real world thinking it’s all about “me”

How can this couple be stupid enough to bring SO many children into a world that is alteady over populated! BTW, I agree completely with Miller!

All the older kids have a BUDDY, one of the smaller kids, that they help with and watch over, and ALL the kids have chores.......yes, God helps them with the laundry.

In 3 generations, 18 to the 3rd power is

5832.

In 4, it’s about 105,000.
in 5, it’s about 1.9 million...

Thanks, just caught the news. Very happy they have another healthy baby. Our viola-ist was over to practice for the bilingual Christmas Eve service.

If all conservatives would have more children they could starve government of taxes and train the kind of leaders we need for the future. I’m encouraging people to have more kids and cut taxable expenses 25%
