ROGERS, Ark. An Arkansas woman has given birth to her 18th child.
Michelle Duggar delivered the baby girl by Caesarean section Thursday at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. The baby, named Jordyn-Grace Makiya Duggar, weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long.
"The ultimate Christmas gift from God," said Jim Bob Duggar, the father of the 18 children. "She's just absolutely beautiful, like her mom and her sisters."
The Duggars now have 10 sons and eight daughters.
Jim Bob Duggar said Michelle started having contractions Wednesday night. She needed the C-section, her third, because the baby was transverse. Jim Bob said both baby and mother were doing well Thursday night.
"We both would love to have more," he said.

"Our whole family is excited about Jordyn's addition to our family," Jim Bob Duggar said. "She's just perfect in every way."

I think I have watched to much of John & Kate Plus Eight. A couple nights ago I dreamed I had just given birth to sextuplets.
They yanked it when I posted it last time.
Yeah, we’re not supposed to talk about that, it gets some people “upset.” I think it is a very valid point.
The kids have "chores" ... and actually do them. You know ... cleaning the house, taking out the trash, taking care of little brother/sister, doing the dishes, mowing the lawn, etc.
I think I’ve been watching too much TV, period. I’ve been kind of homebound the last several weeks. When I go back to work in Feb I’m gonna miss Paula Dean, Emerald, Rachel Ray, and even “Guy”.
Anyone who would quote Dennis Miller approvingly reveals his own lack of character.
Jordyn? Uh ok.
Yes Cindy it’s better for the kid if they have so many siblings they might not get their name remembered by their own parents or any have time to talk to their parents alone. This fam I assume has the money. NO I’m NOT ACCUSING THIS FAM of neglect, don’t flame me. Cindydawg’s post just rubbed me the wrong way.
I’d like more than 2 siblings but I think there may be such as a thing as too many.
Not sure what’s bothering you but since I have been known to go down the list with just 3 they probably forget names sometimes too.
Miller is mostly a conservative now. And he’s funny.
Yeah, real classy. And logical! (not)
Homosexuals are obsessed with talking about body parts (ever read Michael Morford), but appalled when the parts are used in their natural way. Sounds like ....
The United States is not overpopulated. Europe is not overpopulated.
Western civilization is definitely *underpopulated* and is in grave danger of becoming extinct.
We are in a culture war and Islam is winning. Muslims have far more babies. . .they realize population is destiny.
I have 4 children and if I could do it over would have married my husband a bit earlier and had a few more.
Thank you, A.B. I admit I’ve dropped my usual refined manner here, but these filthy comments drive me insane. If a person wants to say having a lot of children is nuts, okay ... I think I’m nuts, too. But they can keep their perverted personal comments to themselves, or raise speculation that they prefer (ahem) some other manner of engaging in relationships, as it were.
There is a highly organized family in our church with 8 girls, and a high-energy mom, but the dad has started to take on this dazed, shell-shocked look. . .lol. . .I don’t know if it’s all the kids or just that they are all girls.
That's no way to treat a lady.
Many families don’t do “events” like soccer games and softball. Many families avoid sports like the plague.
You thinking your nuts and others thinking your nuts are 2 entirely different things. Of course I know you are nuts -— but that knowledge has nothing whatsoever to do with the number of children you have.......it has to do with the type of pets you keep :)
I’m reminded of one of my former doctors, she came from an ostensibly large family (at least 6 children) and as the oldest, she often had to take care of the rest and as a result, she never had any children of her own. I think she had some “resentment” issues as a result.
I mentioned the pact my half-sister and I made as only children that we’d have at least two, knowing the polar opposite of what it’s like to have no siblings under the same roof (she held up her end, but I haven’t yet for reasons you know). The Duggars take it to an extreme, and I don’t think they’re considering it may be harmful to some of their children because of overkill. I don’t see how they can truly, deeply get to know their children all as individuals, but as a “group.” Even the naming of their children seems to underscore that. Why some on FR consider stating these valid concerns is flamebait is puzzling and bizarre.
There's much wisdom in that ... organized sports have become a very bad substitute for kids playing in the neighbourhood.
I think it will be interesting to see if the oldest and his new wife decide to have a large family or not.
