ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The tight Minnesota U.S. Senate race between Republican incumbent Norm Coleman and Democratic challenger Al Franken has become incredibly close -- with Coleman clinging to a two-vote lead.
That's the latest tally after the state Canvassing Board spent a third day ruling on disputed ballots. There are hundreds of challenges yet to decide, as well as thousands of withdrawn challenges that have yet to be tallied.
Coleman had entered Thursday's session leading Franken by 360 votes. But that lead eroded all day as the board considered a pile of challenges brought entirely by the Coleman campaign. The pile included a big chunk of withdrawn challenges, many of which went quickly to Franken's column.

Thanks for posting that. I’m ashamed to say I have never read the whole thing. Actually I may have read it when I was in home school in the 8th grade but didn’t understand it or remember.
It gave me chills. Those guys were uncompromising MEN.
I always assumed George Washington was one of the signers. What was he doing at the time the DOI was signed?
“discerening intent of the voter” cancels any need to vote correctly in libtard world. sorry to say, I live in my blue hell (MN).
in libtard world, everyone gets a ‘do over’ for everything and everything is dumbed down to the lowest common denominator.
Doesn’t this bring back memories of the ‘72 USA vs. Soviet cheaters Olympic basketball game?
9:16 Franken takes lead. Dems can now call election over.
Would someone please stop the vote fraud and stealing of our precious liberties?
This means that when Franken challenged ballots originally awarded to Coleman, they would be removed from Coleman’s vote total. Those ballots whose challenges are rejected will be added back to Coleman’s total.
Franken’s now up over 200.
Now you can tell what would have happened in 2000, if not for the SCOTUS!
Shameful and CORRUPT is the Democrap Party!
OK>
So is she related to the ‘SWANSON’S Dinners” people?
Maybe that’s who keeps finding votes for the Clown Franken.
[wimpy]
Lol, I’ll sure go along on the wimpy part as to the pubs. I read today that Franken is ahead now. Why aren’t the pubs screaming their heads off up there.
To us it’s so obvious the dems are cheating, there should be an uproar. I assume all the uproar has only come from democrats.
.
democrats unite
Republicans and conservatives are too busy nitpicking to elect a candidate in close elections
Look what the primaries ended up giving us
A candidate who ran on the same platform as the democrats
My explanation of that would be this; The dems don't care about the morals or reputation of their candidate so any democrat candidate will be voted FOR.
We conservatives are more discriminating and ‘nitpicking’ as you mentioned. There is never a perfect candidate. The pubs were really fractured during this election.
McCain was wimpy too, he didn't fight.
.
Republicans throw an election and then gripe about the other party for 4-8 years or worse
Now they have lost Congress and the White House
Those that did not vote to get a Republican in the WH have nothing to cry about now
All that said or thought “this will teach ‘em!” and “In 4 years the voters will revolt and toss out the left!” are light in gray matter
They elected a Commie and got the Clintons back in high positions again too!
[Those that did not vote to get a Republican in the WH have nothing to cry about now]
Well, I know who some are right here on the forum. Their big fight now is about the birth certificate and ‘he isn’t a citizen’, etc.
Your request will be refered to the Obama administration.
Thanks! I will pack a suitcase and wait for the authorities to pick me up in the morning.
To think that Franken was even in this thing does not speak well to the intelligence of much of the electorate in Minnesota. (Conservative Minnesotans... you have my sympathy.)
...maybe that north and south thing really ISN’T over yet...at least my grandma still holds out hope and she may be on to something.
