CBS’s Chen: Leave Caroline Kennedy Alone, Criticism ‘Unfair’

On Thursday’s CBS Early Show, co-host Julie Chen came to the defense of would-be New York Senator Caroline Kennedy, who has faced criticism for her lack of experience: "This is so unfair. I mean, look, the system is set up the way it's set up and Governor Paterson decides and that's it. Leave her alone, everyone." That comment followed a report by correspondent Meg Oliver, in which Kennedy avoided tough questions from the press: "She quickly got a taste of the pressure that comes with seeking a high-profile political office...questions mostly went unanswered."

Chen was not so quick to defend Sarah Palin from critics during the campaign.

This is no surprise, since Chen, Couric, and the rest are all fellow inhabitants of the insular little parallel universe known as New York City. They can't understand why anyone could possibly be offended by the term "upstate."

Someone needs to tell Mrs. Moonves, host of that disgraceful show “Big Brother,” that Gov. Paterson didn’t pull the Princess’s name out of a hat. She ASKED for the appointment. You might take a look at your own network’s treatment of Sarah Palin, who did NOT ask for the Vice Presidential nomination, but who had at least had elected experience and executive experience chops, and who was treated like crap by Katie Couric.

My mother in law, MA born and bred watches all of that crap, Ellen, Oprah, morning show etc. Anyway when she comes down south to visit(yes I had the good sense to get my wife to move south and not stay up there) the mother in law wants all of that crap on my TV and I just have NBC,MSNBC,CBS,ABC, all on block. why anyone watches those shows or stations is beyond me especially conservatives or republicans

I honestly believe that the city of NY and most of the north east actually live in their own bubble.
