They can’t understand why anyone could possibly be offended by the term “upstate.”

What’s offensive about “upstate”?

We always used that term for anyone above Westchester County.

LMAO! I really am from upstate, and there's plenty north of Westchester that will always be downstate to me! It always made me laugh when people in NYC would call Ossining, Nyack, etc. "upstate."
