The name: Muntadhar al-Zeidi -- a new hero to many in the Muslim world.
President Bush -- in a surprise, end-of-term visit to Iraq -- held a press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Al-Zeidi, an Iraqi "reporter," shouted, "This is your farewell kiss, you dog," and threw a shoe at Bush. The reporter quickly threw a second. The shoes missed their target only because an agile President Bush managed to duck.

DECEMBER 14-17, 2008 : (IRAQ COUP PLOT ARRESTS)
DECEMBER 17, 2008 WED : (REPORT) Up to 35 officials in the Iraqi Ministry of the Interior ranking as high as general have been arrested over the past three days with some of them accused of quietly working to reconstitute Saddam Husseins Baath Party, according to senior security officials in Baghdad.
The arrests, confirmed by officials from the Ministries of the Interior and National Security as well as the prime ministers office, included four generals, one of whom, Gen. Ahmed Abu Raqeef, is the ministrys director of internal affairs. The officials also said that the arrests had come at the hand of an elite counterterrorism force that reports directly to the office of Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki.
The involvement of the counterterrorism unit speaks to the seriousness of the accusations, and several officials from the Ministries of the Interior and National Security said that some of those arrested were in the early stages of planning a coup.

I think we should have a Code Red demonstration and invite the press.
We get a big wood chipper and a bunch of maniquins of women and children. Then we start throwing them into the chipper as a demonstration of what would have happened to that reporter and his family if he had thrown a shoe at Saddam.
Then we push a wall over onto another one to show what would happen to a homosexual in Afghanastan before we threw out the Taliban.
How many reporters would show up?
One journalist observed, "It was a reporter (emphasis added) who yanked (al-Zeidi) to the ground before Iraqi or American guards could reach him."
The question is whether this would have happened if McCain had won. Obama is seen as weak and those that were in power with Sadaam and are allies with Iran are itching to get back in power.
